On Fox yesterday, the mild-mannered - but slick - Rep. Harold Ford (D-TN) used the term to characterize Bush's announcement that future presidents would have to deal with troop withdrawal/redeployment from Iraq. (Ohmygod, 2009?!). Sounds like Ford was launching the latest Dem talking point.

Of course, it won't be mentioned that Presidents Truman, Eisenhower, and Clinton similarly "punted", leaving troops deployed after WWII, Korea and the Balkans, respectively, when they left office.

And the troops are still there - in all those places.
