|
|
After Kerry dissed our troops, indicating that they were only in the service because they are not educated enough to do anything else, John McCain called for Kerry's apology to the military.
Kerry lashed out at McCain saying that Senator McCain needed to demand an apology from Rumsfeld and Bush.
Tonight, on Hannity and Colmes, John McCain repeated his call for Kerry's apology. But that's not all he said.
I have never been much of a fan of McCain's because I felt he sold out when he backed Kerry on numerous occasions (ask Sam Johnson (R-TX) how he feels about McCain. Johnson was held as a VN POW for almost seven years, much longer than McCain) but tonight, on H & C, McCain said that Kerry has said hurtful things about our military before and it was something he [personally] knew about. McCain was giving a direct reference to John Kerry's Senate testimony that hurt our POWs during Vietnam.
It was a brief statement on McCain's part, but he left no question that the friendship that was supposed to be so strong may be on the ropes. |

I concur.... Think he has something up his sleeves for popularity, or was he being honest? |

While I'm perfectly capable of being duped by clever political calculus, my gut tells me that McCain is about as straight a shooter as one might find in the political arena. That being said, he is more than capable of making judgements with which I profoundly disagree and it is with his judgements, not his sincerity or motivation, that I take issue.
I believe that he, like BOR and legions of other "luminaries", was decidedly ignorant and premature in his SVPT assessment, and his knee-jerk labeling of this endeavor and it's members as "dishonorable", in the face of now known TRUTHS about John Kerry, is, to me, both dishonorable and shameful.
Unless and until John McCain apologizes to this band of PATRIOTS for this egregious and ill-informed slur, he will remain on my list of "cannot support"...permanently. |

I could never support John McCain...my opinion is he never got over losing to President Bush and is a sore loser. He had done nothing to support or help this president when the time arose McCain did everything to go against President Bush. If McCain gets the nomination for the republican party..I could never vote for him. _________________ Born to raise a little hell! |

I guess we will all have to fight hard to make sure McCain does not get the republican ticket. I did hear that he was doing a focus group to see how he faired. Guess I might have to drop ole Senator McCain a little e-mail. I seem to be getting better at contacting my elected officials and letting them know how I feel. I have decided to take a really active role in helping the republicans keep the White House...my daughter who formed the Young Republicans in her high school (I am so darn proud) said she would like to help also! _________________ Born to raise a little hell! |

The primaries is where all the blood-letting must take place. Unless the Dems come up with someone who is not a socialist, I have to say anyone the GOP nominates has to be prefered. In the general election we will not only be voting for particular office holders but philosophies of where this country will go and what it will be. Socialism failed and will fail wherever it is tried (and don't tell me about Scandinavia. That's th' ole country for me and they are not happy). |

I see Mccain calling for kerry to apologize - mccain's move to get military votes.
I won't be voting for him here in AZ - for anything. _________________ Stevie

Stevie,
McCain's on a full court press to be the good republican/conservative. Kerry is an easy target. See him on Russert 11/12?
His Senate seat's his til '10. _________________ "KILL ALL THE LAWYERS!"

Although I have a lot of respect for McCain's service record and the man may be a Republican, he's also a Liberal.
Right now McCain's posturing for POTUS, and like any good little politician, will do whatever it takes. Any attack on Kerry by anyone is always welcome.
It will be interesting to see who the candidates are for next POTUS.
Hanoi John, the Red Queen, the Wicked Witch of the West (Coast), Rudi, Joe Lieberman, McCain.
Senators make weak presidents (too used to collective decisions), most of our best presidents have been state Governors (can make decisions without a committee). Rudi comes close, he was Mayor. Jeb Bush might be a good candidate.
Whoever it is, we will need a leader and decision maker, not someone who can't make up his mind without a poll; and we certainly don't want someone who admires the UN. _________________ Swift Boats - Qui Nhon (12/69-4/70), Cat Lo (4/70-5/70), Vung Tau (5/70-12/71) |

As do I.

Funny you should mention the Red Queen - when I hear about strange things McCain does, I can't help thinking about the 1962 movie 'The Manchurian Candidate' and "Raymond, why don't you pass the time by playing a little solitaire?" and then him turning up the Queen of Diamond.... |

Not a remf. here
When in a real fight for our Country its freedom , its constitution, its very life. Where was McCain regarding the Borders, with Kennedy, when the President of the U.S.A. at the time Bill Clinton got the 12,500 name list of the POW/MIA's from the Goverment of Poland,, where was McCain, with Lt. Kerry, in fact McCain has lunch with the no good traitor, shakes his hand, on and on, in fact the current results of the Republicans getting tossed out of Congress and Senate leadership was just this thing, not leading, playing games once more with the lives of American fighting men allowing the 3rd, 4th time into the same streets of "fool-lose-ya", just like Hue City, just like McNamara and Johnson, half ass effort, and young men get killed for what, Democracy for mad mullas children of the death cult.
The dam Los Alamos lab is in worse shape now than when Clinton was handing the nuke notes out, they allow a white trash meth addict to leave with nuke trigger specs, and three worm drives with many things on them.
Rudy goes down to Mexico with his advisory company for 4 years now on the payroll of the Mexican Goverment which can not spend one dime without the drug boss's ok and loads up on money and now he wants to get the Pres. and he gets the kick-back for the Amnasty.
McCain on the other hand is more in your face he puts his name on a amnasty bill with Ted Kennedy. RINO'S ALL BUSH, OLD MAN BUSH, MCCAIN, RUDY,, ONE AND ALL ITS WHAT CLINTON IS MEETING OLD MAN BUSH ON THE GOLF COURSE ABOUT, THE COMPLETE SELL OUT OF AMERICA THATS WHAT,
