Robert passed away today after complications from surgery for existing pulmonary conditions. Bob was very active in ther SVPT and the SBSA. His web site is www.pcf45.com He will be greatly missed for both his humor and dedication to both organizations. My prayers go out to his family and now he is back at sea on patrol with our comrades. Goodby Bob and you will not be forgotten. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Terry, I am numbed and saddened beyond words at hearing this terrible news.

My deepest condolences to Bob's family and friends, and particularly to his Brothers-in-Arms of the SVPT and the SBSA to whom and which he was so obviously dedicated.
My prayers for the ultimate in fair winds and following seas Bob...and...thanks.

What a shock! Bob was indeed, a great Swiftie. His was one of the first sites I went to during 2004 when things were heating up, and I found him to be invaluable help to me when I was researching all things Swiftboats. He was never too busy to respond to a question. It just doesn't seem possible that he is gone, and my heart goes out to his family during this sad time of mourning. Thanks, Terry, for letting us know about his death.

My broken heart goes out to his family and all the people who loved him. Sad

Bob was such a great guy and good person and we're going to miss the heck out of him around here.

Fair winds and following seas, shipmate.

May God, the Father of Mercies, hold you in His perpetual light.

I am personally saddened by this news. Although I never met Bob, I carried on a several month long email exchange with him this past year as we compared notes on our services. I will miss him greatly.
My sympathy is extended to his family.
Jack

Very sorry to hear about this.
I had several communications with Robert back in 04 finding him to be a real patriot and person of enormous knowledge regarding Swift Boat history.
Certainly hope his website stays lite for his candle will always burn with me.

Sad surprise. His indefatigable enthusiasm for SVPT and his ever present camera will be missed.

I add my deepest condolences to those of the others and to the many not posted here but offered in spirit or in person to the family. It is clear from the response in this forum that Bob has touched the lives of even those of us who did not have the honor of knowing him personally. His legacy will be preserved.

We will continue to pray for Bob's family. A song that has given me great solice at times of grief might be of some benefit to you as well. It is titled "Home Free", and the artist is a very popular Christian singer and songwriter named Wayne Watson. I hope it will provide some comfort to the family and grieving friends.

....the lyrics to "Home Free":

I'm trying hard not to think you unkind
But Heavenly Father
If you know my heart
Surely you can read my mind
Good people underneath the sea of grief
Some get up and walk away
Some will find ultimate relief

Chorus
Home Free, eventually
At the ultimate healing we will be Home Free
Home Free, oh I've got a feeling
At the ultimate healing
We will be Home Free

Out in the corridors we pray for life
A mother for her baby, A husband for his wife
Sometimes the good die young
It's sad but true
And while we pray for one more heartbeat
The real comfort is with You

You know pain has little mercy
And suffering's no respecter of age, of race or position
I know every prayer gets answered
But the hardest one to pray is slow to come
Oh Lord, not mine, but Your Will be done

Let it be...

Chorus
Home Free, eventually
At the ultimate healing we will be Home Free
Home Free, oh I've got a feeling
At the ultimate healing
We will be Home Free

Home Free, eventually
At the ultimate healing gonna be Home Free
Home Free, oh it's more than a feeling
At the ultimate healing
Gonna be Home Free
