Taranto notes Kerry's attempt at some "cover" as Edwards gets thrown under the media bus...

The Kerry-Doe Ticket

We guess we can't call it "Kedwards" anymore. John Kerry, the haughty, French-looking former junior senator from Massachusetts, who by the way served in Vietnam, has responded to John Edwards's revelations that he fathered an illegitimate child while cheating on his cancer-stricken wife by denying that Edwards was his running mate in 2004:
Since the story of Edwards' affair with [Rielle] Hunter broke, Kerry has been asked if in 2004 he saw any signs whatsoever of the duplicitous if not pathological behavior of which his former chum is capable.

"This isn't the person I campaigned with back then," Kerry has privately said, according to the source.
Which raises the question: Who is the person Kerry campaigned with back then? It's been a while, but one thing we do remember is that Kerry's running mate looked quite young. Could it have been James O'Keefe?

Lurch is so focused on himself, Edwards could have been having sex on stage during a Kerry speech and Kerry wouldn't have noticed...and this dufus could have been in charge of keeping us safe from the terrorists.

From what I have read about the potential charges Edwards may be facing, he may have the opportunity to find another secret lover...his new cellmate "Bubba", in Federal Prison for the next 20 years. Rolling Eyes

True, but, who should be more embarrassed by the other, Kerry by Edwards, or Edwards by Kerry?

You have to admit that was a "dream team to be defeated", I mean how often can you get two such obvious losers on one ticket that you can so easily vote against?

Looks like a casting call for the remake of "Dumb and Dumber".

What the heck happened to this country, anyway?

I think the hippies grew up and snuck into government. Wink Shocked

Seriously, this started long ago, before most of us were even born. FDR's New Deal opened the door and the left's anti-war/anti-establishment attitudes of the 1960's got their foot in the door.

Even TV shows played a part. If you recall, the "family shows" all had very liberal parents who easily "talked" with their kids acting up.

The 1970's saw them walking through the door as Watergate exploded and the left played it fully as they could.

Kerry played a major role with his deceptive "testimony" throwing us all under the bus and advocating the communist agenda.

They did it very slow and subtle, deceiving the country every step of the way and dumbing down kids in public institutions of liberal indoctrination, which continues today.

We didn't see it coming and when they lashed out at us when we came home from Nam, we walked away, just wanting to get on with life.

Of course, this is a simplistic view of it all.

Just about every tactic they used and continue to use can be found in Saul Alinksy's Rules for Radicals, still available for sale.

We don't have the time now to subtly take it back and have top confront it where we see it, as did the Swift Vets in 2004.

They stood up and now it's our turn to stand up once again.

It was kind of a rhetorical question.
I have a pretty good understanding of where it went wrong, but I'd say Lincoln and FDR were the prime movers of steering us down the path of big, overbearing government totalitarianism.

People like Kerry even having a voice in Congress to slur the troops and country for opposing Communist agression is a symptom, not the cause.

To think that Kerry wrote that speech, and got the opportunity to present it on his own authority, isn't believable. That was Teddy Kennedy and his pro-Communist agenda 100%, and Kerry got rewarded for being the puppet.
Well rewarded.

I understand what happened, I'm just surprised that so many Americans stood aside and watched it all occur without taking any action to stop the march to ruin.

We'll see how it goes. It's going to get very ugly, very soon in this country, and there's not any way whatsoever to avoid it at this point.

Keep the faith, and good luck.

Hopefully, a bout of temporary insanity. Let's hope the wisdom of the Founders in their study of history, and the way they structured this country, will be enough to allow a recovery.

It may take awhile, but it's in the cards. And yes, I agree it will get ugly.
