Lanny Davis is the liar. He hasnt even read the book. The average non military citizen does not know that the boats we are talking about served together in close proximity. The liberals are using words like "SHIP" as if it is aircraft carrier size.
That would be like me being out at the lake on my Bass Boat and not being a credible witness to a murder that happened on a pontoon boat some short distance away.
I will keep saying, the devil is in the details. PAY ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS. |

I think part of the problem here is that the American public does not understand the size of swift boats and how close they operate together. They also do not have general boating knowledge and the fact that people on surrounding boats would have a better view of what is going on better than the crew of the actual boat in question.
Sometimes you have to educate the jury. We had better teach em how to shoot bb guns before we hand them rifles. |

You do have to be a passenger in a car accident to describe the accident. These "not on the ship" comments are weak. But you are correct. The Kerry backers are clever. They are pounding their point. _________________ The war against terrorism is not that Americans might die rather that we would alter our way of living. Hey Ben Jax,
That is totally false. Anyone who SEES what happened is a witness. I submit to you, that being in the actual wreck does not give you the same view as someone who is slightly back with a wider view. A person involved in action will have tunnel vision and concentration but will not be able to judge the scene like a standoff witness can. |

If two of you had a car crash and I was a pedestrian watching from the curb, Would I not have a good view of what went on?Probably better than the two in the accident
I think this would be a simple way to put it |

I think (based on context of all his remarks) that Ben intended to say:
Quote: | You do NOT have to be a passenger in a car accident to describe the accident. |

I think all future interviewees should appear with visual aids to debunk the misconceptions that are being utilized against them. Their opponents are using "naval ignorance" as their tool. From a naval perspective, all the opponents' arguments are wafer thin. |

Thanks Navy, I did mess up. That is what I meant. _________________ The war against terrorism is not that Americans might die rather that we would alter our way of living. Clear email to the media. A boat is not a ship. A boat carries as many people as your car. Ships are Aircraft Carriers to most Americans..include some pictures stolen from www.pcf45.com or from various threads here. The Media is not only biased....They're Stupid _________________ On Sale! When I stepped on the USS Okinawa I was duley informed of this meaning!! You see I said "well here we are on this dam boat". A Navy Officer was in close proximity to me and heard what I said. He promptly said "Marine you can put a boat on a ship but you can't put a ship on a boat". He was a Ltcmdr and not to happy about what I said. From that point on I referenced my ship as a ship. The only ship that I see in this topic is the ship that Kerry is on and it is sinking. Semper Fi. _________________ Helicopter Marine Attack Squadron 169 which is now HMLA-169. Would that Kerry had served on a submarine...then it could be said that he served on a boat that was designed to sink!
