From a terrific post by Jason Van Steenwyk:

Quote:
Hugh Hewitt, VodkaPundit, and a host of others are all over the mainstream media's failure to cover the fact that the Kerry campaign has been caught in a series of baldfaced lies dating back years.

The fact that Kerry was lying about being in Cambodia is confirmed by every living member of his chain of command, plus at least one member of his own swiftboat crew.

He notes that, in addition to Fox News, the UK Telegraph has picked up the story.

And who else?

Quote:
The New York Times? AWOL.
USA Today? AWOL.
Boston Globe? AWOL.
Washington Post? AWOL.
CNN? AWOL.
Reuters? AWOL.
Associated Press? AWOL.
Los Angeles Times? AWOL.

Our nation's premier news outlets are being shamed by the Fort Wayne News Sentinel.

It's a miserable media failure.

No s**t, Sherlock! But what's the failure? That the media is failing to cover this, or failing to cover this up?

You can read the whole post here.

The media is expecting their "regular pass" from the public of what news they want to report. I'm guilty for handing them that pass for a long, long time and just switching channels to watch dog shows.... I am now energized by pushing back at them. The more they enforce the wall, the more interested I am in hacking away at it.

I heard today or maybe yesterday -- don't recall the show -- the host gave a brief negative comment about the Swiftvets, a dismissal of them (dem talking pts) -- and then said, rather forcefully that, well, we will be reporting on the real issues of importance and will continue our coverage on uncovering the lies told by the NJ governor."

This is their story for next week. NJ governor lies. Boy oh boy. No doubt about it, they do not want THIS story. Cool

This really proves what we have known all along, except it is worse than I could have ever thought. The media has a secular, prochoice, prohomosexual agenda. They know that Bush is bad for business. Thank God for the internet and the TV add the swiftvets have put on. Again, for the future of this country donate what you can to this cause.

The Media Bias is some what if not more responsible for Michael Moore's F-911 being called "The most Successfull Documentary"

It's not a Documentary -It's Fiction!

1) The tub of lard formerly known as Michael Moore is a crockumentarian, not a documentarian.

2) Last I heard we were having TV stations threatened by DNC lawyers and we, in turn, mailed out an intellectually, legally and morally better letter to those same stations. Since then I've heard nothing on our coverage. Is the ad and the story actually getting out? Broadly? (I shot my TV the week before the Gipper died, so I wouldn't know)

3) The only time the media is a surprise is when they stumble open-mouthed across the truth and let some of it out before they realize what they're doing. Like the balloon thing at the end of the dems convention: that's the real DNC!!

I really don't want to stir up any hornets here, but the truth is that old Joe McCarthy was right on. He was just a butthole about it. The fact that the commies were infiltrating Hollywonk and the media was just that, a fact. And it is a fact we suffer under today. That he was foolish and irresponsible in his pursuit of the issue is unfortunate at best.

We would be wise to remember that. We don't need to get frothy about things, particularly when speaking in a public forum. That'll hurt us. Kerry and his fellow traitors intentionally have given each of us a bad name already. While righteous indignation is warranted, blowing spittle in the course of argument is a bad sign to those we would educate. It's a tough thing to conquer, but it's important for us to present our truth with calm, rational conviction. Most of us have seen James Carville. Leave him to the Dems--we don't need a cancer like him on our team.

Remember the Titanic, and what took her under? Design flaws, pure and simple. Watertight bulkheads that were not built solid to the maindeck. As water entered her, it flowed up and over the top of those useless bulkheads and, in a domino effect, it accelerated after just two compartments flooded. That sent the unthinkable "unsinkable" to the bottom in a very short time.

Kerry is taking on water. Lots of it. Lots of it. The TV spot and the book have water dribbling over the first phony bulkhead. And the bourgeoisie in the media and their snooty little Boston and Hollywonk neighbors sip their vintage wine above decks, believing the soothings of Cpts. Kennedy and Kerry and Daschle, et al, while panic reigns below in the boiler rooms.

There are oceans of truth pouring into the Kerryboat, and he's close to drowning in it. I'm sure that he is privately peeing himself, but he's too "lied in" to be able to get himself "lied out." The media keeps his head above water for the time being, but we stand a very good chance if a) we don't go weirding out about our cause; 2) we maintain and perservere--don't give up or shut up; 3) we keep educating ourselves and searching out new venues of communication and using them!

He's going down. Oh, what a sight it will be! And, in the end, it will not be people jumping off the fantail but rats.

It will take no more than two, maybe three concentrated hits of truth to send the Kerryboat under. Let's be wise, stable, and coordinated. We have marvelous leadership in SwiftVets and others online. We have an honorable history as veterans and heroes in our own right. Stay busy poppin' rivets belowdecks and sink the bastards.

Gosh, I love this war!

I am with you Silenthunter!

I pray you saw the beautiful job Brit Hume did this morning in reference to Unfit for Duty. He left everyone on the FoxNews panel stunned. Even that DNC mouthpiece, Juan Williams, was flopping around like a fish out of water! It took a commercial break for him to come up with his lame, DNC reading point answer!! And still, Brit deftly delivered the classid "wrong again" to Juan!

It was beauty in television!

I am so gung ho about this topic ever since the "mainstream" media blocked out the John O'Neill and the SBVT from the talkshow circuit and the news in general. After the way they humped the likes of Moore, Wilson and Clarke, treating them like they could literally walk on water (and were silent when they were all proven to be liars and fakes), their treatment of the Swifties is a disgrace and hypocritical.

Only months after the feeding frenzy surrounding the President's National Guard service, you would think that at least a few of them would be interested enough, or even have an iota of journalistic integrity, to at least interview O'Neill, but no. The total blackout smacks of a coordinated effort to kill the SBVT story and support Kerry.

Conspiracy? I don't know. It could just be the coincidental liberal bias of the major media outlets that resulted in the suppression of the story, but if it quacks, walks, looks, smells, floats and craps like a duck, then you probably have a duck on your hands!

I am doing everything I can to get this story out: writing to papers, television, radio, college papers (fall), FreeRepublic, bumperstickers, wrote to McCain, Imus, and that weasel Barnicle etc., and I encourange others to do so as well. We have to be proactive. The lefties sure are. Look at the way they are smearing the Swifties without interviewing a single one, or reading the book.

Once the Kerry is relieved of his Vietnam camouflage, he will have to run on his Senate record and years as Dukakis' butt boy, and I think most here know that this is the last thing he wants, if the convention speech is anything to go by.

On the back of my truck: "Why is John Kerry and the media so afraid of the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth? See www.swiftvets.com and see." Can't leave it up at UMASS though: some lefty will probably key my wheels.

P.S. Did you notice how Chuck Hegel equated "nuanced" with "compromised" this morning? A real nice, very subtle Kerry slam, IMNO. I think it was on Russert or Stepalloverus.

silenthunter and others,

I can understand your drive to see Kerry 'Slip beneath the Waves'. If that is your goal, go for it. But keep in mind that to take Kerry down is going to require convincing a lot of civilians as to the rightness of your cause. I agree with what the SWIFTs are doing, it's right and honorable.

But I have to observe something here that a lot of people are missing. In a sense Kerry the person is not the issue. Kerry the MYTH is. The reason I say that is that it appears that Kerry has over the last 30 years used his Vietnam experience as a prop for his political career.

Kerry's vulnerability is his mythology. If the SWIFTs burst that bubble fully then the myth dies and then so does his political aspirations. The problem the Dems has is that they have built the majority of their qualification for the man on his 4 month myth. That is clearly a mistake.

Already, the Kerry team has had to recant the Cambodia story. That makes it now possible for people to question his 'I served' line.

No need for vitirol against Kerry personally. Go after the myth and he sinks.

Thanks JohM,

That's the point of the post, exactly. The silence in the media appears to be recognition that the issues raised by SBVFT and Unfit for Command might be able to "burst that bubble," as you put it.

The credibility of the media is sinking as fast as John Kerry's. We need to focus on the facts that we can present, and the falsehoods that we can debunk. "Vitriol" should only be used to run drag racing cars.

Em not sure what prochoice and prohomosexual have to do with John Kerrys Vietnam Service; or secular for that matter.

The real problem is that they are carrying water for a political party in an effort to unseat a sitting president. They are letting their political views corrupt their coverage of issues and facts. They are lieing by omission to prop up a weak candidate they would prefer in the White House.

THAT is subversive and dangerous. THAT is how Hitlers and Mussolinis get elected.
