Mission to Cambodia
by Kevin Whitelaw | May 08 '00
Sen. John Kerry made his first forays into Cambodia during the Vietnam War as a Navy lieutenant on clandestine missions to deliver weapons to anticommunist forces. When he returned last week, the mission was official, but dicey nonetheless. At the request of the United Nations, Kerry is trying to broker a compromise on how to try leaders of the former Khmer Rouge regime, whose late 1970s reign of terror claimed the lives of some 1.7 million Cambodians. |

This won't work as a matter of logic.
Kerry returned home from service and lied about his comrades' actions. He even claimed to have committed atrocities that violated the Geneva Convention. He met with the enemy. He made every outrageous claim.
Yet....
THE KERRY CAMPAIGN WANTS US TO BELIEVE HE HID THIS LITTLE MORSEL ABOUT RUNNING GUNS INTO CAMBODIA DURING THIS TESTIMONY TO CONGRESS AND IN OTHER STATEMENTS?
This fails on its face. |

I think that JK needs to be asked who was in office during his alleged incursion into Cambodia. For someone who took it upon himself to criticize the Vietnam War in front of congress, he sure left out one huge detail when he failed to apply blame to one administration or another.
The importance of this question is that it would pin him down to more specific timelines due to the change of Presidents after Nixon's January 20th inauguration in 1969. Since he now states that these orders sent him into Cambodia in January and not on Christmas of 1968, an answer to this question would pin him down to either the remaining 20 days under Johnson, or the first 10 days under Nixon. A tightening of the noose on his story may very well make it easier to then verify if it were even possible for him to be in Cambodia any time in January.
Also, why can't he produce even one fellow soldier who can substantiate his claim? Does he think he was sent in there alone like Rambo? |

Also why didn't Kerry mention running weapons into a neutral country when he testified to congress about the war crimes ? |

Hahaaaa..... Ruffcutt, I've always joked about JK playing Rambo at night when the rest of his unit was asleep.
He'd suit up with his bandoliers and go stalking through the jungles with a machete, single-handedly committing war crimes and taking out VC units of a couple hundred in one action.
It's the only way that he could have seen the war crimes that he professed to, when no one else in his unit ever witnessed anyone but JK doing things that were so despicable.
Killing all the animals in a village, lighting all the huts on fire with his Zippo. While the patrol boat units were walking a thin line between killing VC and enlisting the aid and cooperation of local friendlies, JK is the only one for whom anyone in the units remembers things of this sort. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

How could Kerry burn villages with his zippo if he was in a swift boat? Did he land the boat and sneak up to the villages and set them on fire? Did he left some of his crew with the boat to make sure the VC didn't steal it or destroy it ? How did he pick out which villages to burn? Was he ordered to burn certain ones? Or did he burn ones that fired on his boat ? Since he got a metal everytime he got a scratch did he get one for burns that he may have caused himself? |
