My husband was a Vietnam Vet, he doesn't remember 'swift boats" only "PBR" boats (patroll boat river) . Are they the same?

I wasn't Navy and until signing on here, didn't realize they were different either. My understanding is the Swifts were a larger boat than the PBRs. I'll let the Navy guys come in and explain the rest.

No. They're entirely different.

Go to www.mrfa.org and www.pcf46.com to learn more about Riverine and Coastal (Swift) boats.
