This incident is very important. In an interview by John O'Neil with Rush Limbaugh (8-23-04), Mr. O'Neil couldn't explain how Rassman fell into the Bay Hap river (3-13-69). Kerry was in the PCF-94, followed 15 yards behind one of his best friends in Vietnam, Don Droz, in PCF-43. These two swift boats were on the right side of the river. At the other side of the river was PCF boats 3 (commanded by Richard Pees), 23 (Jack Chenoweth), and 51 (Thurlow). All agree that the #3 boat was lifted out of the water after hitting a mine. However, Rassman, who was on Kerry's 94, fell into the water. According to Mr. O'Neil, Kerry's boat was not hit. After #3 was hit, all the other boats, except Kerry's went to the rescue of #3. Rassman, being on the left side of the boat, leaned left, anticipating that Kerry would go to help rescue #3. However, Kerry fled the scene, by speeding off straight ahead. Thus, Rassman, leaning left, could have fallen into the water. Kerry, then realizing that there was no hostile fire, returned and picked Rassman out of the water.
Let me be real clear. I volunteered for Vietnam, but was turned down because of my eye-sight. I then entered Peace Corps, and went to Colombia, South America (1966-1969). Upon returning to the USA, I was very opposed to "Yankee Imperialism". I got a job with FDIC and wrote articles against the war in Vietnam (until I was asked to stop by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation). About this time there was an anti-war protest sponsored by Abby Hoffman. I participated in that march, and was photographed outside the FDIC building in Washington, DC. I participated in the march, and was tear-gassed. One reason that I joined the march was the testimony of John Kerry and statements by Jane Fonda. I'm now reading "Unfit for Command", and John Kerry, under current law, would be considered a (Edited by Moderator.)
Ladies and Gentlemen, we MUST get the facts out. Read "Unfit for Command". It is unbelievable the lie that Mr. Kerry perpetuated for the last 35 years. I glad to see that Chris Matthews(a Kerry supporter), a former Peace Corps Volunteer, is finally being critical of John Kerry. Hallelujah. RSH1776 |
