If nothing else, the Swift boat vet ads have further revealed Kerry for the phony and fraud we all no he is as he tries every avenue to violate the First Amendment rights of an honorable group of veterans. Instead of releasing his records (because he has a lot to hide) to clear up legitimate questions about his Vietnam service, he has chosen ot take legal action to stop the ads from running, has attempted to get book retailers to pull it from sale (called censorship) and accused the Bush campaign of smearing him with no evidence and with the full knowledge that this effort is being led by Admiral Hoffman and not Bush or his people. He knew that back in the Spring when he called the Admiral to get him to change his mind about forming Swift Boat Veterans for the Truth. Where are the media and ACLU hypocrits? Imagine the uproar we would have witnessed if Bush had tried to censor Michael Moore's crockumentary or Richard Clarke's book.
For me, the big story that has emerged out of this is Kerry's response and what that says about his handling of criticism if he were President. A future ad might be very effective if it dealt with that very subject. It could start out by pointing out the lies that have already been found and demanding that he clear things up for the American people by opening his records. |
