I can't get the file...I"m on *GASP* dialup. One thing about living in the woods...I have deer and fox in my backyard regularly! Downside - No hope of ever getting a broadband net connection.
Someone should prolly get an FOIA request into the FBI for that document so it comes direct from the Bureau itself...then post the FOIA request WITH the document.
I have no doubt the posted document is accurate but in the eyes of the enemy...well...I'm not sure they'll believe anything that isn't in the Third Gospel of John. _________________ *****************************************

That is incredible! How can anyone read that and think that Kerry is qualified to be Commander in Cheif? _________________ Ahnog |

"[redacted] that on April four, one nine seven two, a representive of the North Vietanese Government at the Paris Peace talks telephoned the 'movement' in the United States to be ready to take action, presumably demonstrations, to counter expected escalation of bombing by American air forces in South Vietnam as a result of the increased military action of North Vietnamese forces in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam. _________________ .

I would like for you to "post" what you have referred us to. It seems that I along with others cannot open your link.
The VVA was started in 1978 (they state Kerry was a co-founder in 1979), I would highly suggest you getting the entire facts before saying something against an origanization which has thousands upon thousands of members. |

Looks like I’m not the only one looking at declassified FBI files! At wintersoldier.com, I looked at the file labeled “Sub A Section 01 (8/70 - 7/73)”
Just scanning thru, I read a meeting of the VVAW [Kerry’s people!!] and took down a few notes -- their minutes of the meeting were very, very long - here’s just a couple things that jumped out at me, things they were preaching to the group:
They listed ways to fight for amnesty for people and reminded the members that these were: “organizing tools used to build a grassroots campaign for total, universal and unconditional amnesty, and in so doing, helps us to build an anti-imperalist movement in this country.” [MY QUESTION: Do average Americans feel/believe that we are “imperalistic?” Where did this ideology come from?]
They “voted that VVAW conduct a Winter Soldier Investigation into the Intelligence Community.” Said it would be better conducted if VVAW was not involved in a sponsoring role. The idea was to have former intelligence officers describe their work in intelligence and its effect on their lives.”
Lots of talk about the GI Movement - helping GIs process paperwork, being there for them in many ways, telling their members how best to get in touch with active and inactive military-- using their helpfulness as a cover to recruit and get members. “The GI Movement is pulling together. People in the movement now see the necessity of organizing GIs because someone other than the officers must be in control of the military.” [MY QUESTION: if the Viet Nam vets supposedly were running this organization, who are the "people in the movement"?]
Then they said they must always steer clear of stating any particular political aim and remain vague in affiliations, and restated how important it is to be associated with veterans. They talked about “the importance of preventing future US military interventions” That they “must begin working with existing military projects.”
They also discussed meetings in Moscow, Japan, and all over the place….
-----------------------------------
I am not surprised about the connection with Hanoi. To my mind as a teenager during the protests in Washington, it looked to me like it was angry Viet Nam veterans. But now it appears it was much, much more. They exist today with same name and will protest the republican convention and other places, in affiliation with other groups (see their website)--but I have no idea if the agenda/ideology from the 70s still exists.
(Note: this packet of info also incls. newspaper clippings of kerry with regard to the 4/71 march on washington & references to his senate testimony etc --)

Pretty sure it is a mistype by the author of the thread. I will adjust it to show VVAW, not the VVA.
OK, it was definately a mistype, the Topic header only allowed so many spaces to be used and cut it off at the last letter, resulting in a a major difference. _________________ U.S. Army 1983-1995, 11C1P/11H2P NBTDT |

Does it help? Yes
Only other thing.....people, if you are going to have a title subject, get your ducks in a roll. I would EXPECT someone to CHANGE THE SUBJECT TITLE from the VVA to the VVAW.
Thanks |

After founding the VVAW, Kerry was apparently involved with Bobby Muller in founding the VVA. Kerry is still a lifetime member of that organization (which makes me want to puke) while Muller broke away and took a branch of the organization with him (VVAF). I am thinking out of the box here as to why they would have formed the VVA, but then it came to me that it would be a tax-exempt non-political organization vs VVAW which was very definitely political. _________________ Misty

Actually I really don't think it matters that Kerry was co-founder of that orginazation. I am thankful that the VVA is out there for us, and I for one will give credit where it is due, even if it is to Kerry. |

Yes, it is a good organization.....maybe in spite of who started it. _________________ Misty
