Apparently even John Kerry's supporters are no longer trying to claim that his first Purple Heart was legitimate, but I'm noticing that the one enormous point that the Press, even those who are sympathetic to SBVT, are missing entirely is that
IF..........the first Purple Heart was not legitimately awarded
THEN..........his release from duty in Viet Nam after only four months was also illegitimate
ERGO..........he still owes America eight months active duty in a war zone
I mean, I'm hearing some of them (Fred Barnes comes readily to mind) acknowledge that it's now pretty clear that PH #1 was undeserved, but then it kind of gets relegated to "but that was over 30 years ago......." without considering the further ramifications--
It's not that I think that the "ergo" part would ever come to pass, nor do I think that that would be fair to the fine, brave young Americans who are serving--And, though I'd love to see it happen, I don't even expect that the Navy would alter his discharge status as they probably ought to under the circumstances--But I would be really, really nice if the point that this "hero" did, in fact, leave Viet Nam early based on dishonest information--It's not just that he lied, it's also that HE DIDN'T COMPLETE HIS DUTY--
Wish I'd hear a few of the talking heads kick that one around a bit--C _________________ “I haven’t seen anyone milk this much out of a bad boat ride since Gilligan” -- Dennis Miller |

You and me both, CandiM!!!
Maybe a few letters to various news personages would get it talked about. Fraud is fraud, no matter how old, and even if legal action (civil or military) isn't possible, it still speaks to Kerry's integrity, honesty, and competence.
I definitely wouldn't want to wish his company on any of our military folk, though. However.... maybe a nice desert vacation for him and his staff would be interesting...
