The VFW tarnishes its name and membership by giving Traitor John a platform. I just don't get it.
I wonder how many medals Kerry got from the VC and North Vietnam in his chummy visits to them in Paris, 1970, and later in Hanoi. I bet besides his picture being put in a place of honor at the War Crimes Museum in Saigon (oops, I mean Ho Chi Minh City, as Kerry would want it), they probably gave him a decoration or two while they were at it. Perhaps the veterans in Nashville could find some old Orders of Lenin and various other Commie combat ribbons and give them to him to replace the American ones he threw away with such disdain. After all, those would be the decorations he really did earn, wouldn't they?
Maybe the Max Cleland stunt could be played in reverse: get some Vietnam Vet in a wheelchair and in front of TV cameras in Nashville who would try to meet with Kerry so he can give him back the Communist medals he may have accidentally thrown away with his American ones. After all, his unearned U.S. medals amount to 5, but he says he may have thrown away 6,7,8,9.
America, save yourself another impeachment when all the truth about this phony comes to light. Kerry not only dis-served his country. He betrayed it.

I picked this post up by a freeper,
8/31
Today in the Tennessean newspaper a Vietnam veteran took out a full page add criticizing John Kerry. I do not have the paper with me right now so I don't remember the veterans name. He was a real Purple Heart winner in Nam. He lost most of his jaw in a battle. He did not criticize Kerry's medals but instead criticized the damage he did with his anti- war activities. The add was fantastic. It was also clearly stated that this add was paid for solely by this one person and he had no connection with the Swiftees. This shows the hatred that many veterans have of Kerry. It should be real interesting to see how the American Legion greets Kerry tomorrow.
a full page ad no less! Any one from that neck of the woods see this? _________________ .

Tennessee doesn't take to turn-coats. I would love it if these men in Nashville would all just stand-up and chant "Sign form 180!" until Kerry left the stage. Kerry can not concoct a big enough pack of lies to hide the fact that he gave aid and comfort to our enemy in a time of war.
I could be wrong, but I think he will attempt to paint himself as a savior of the veterans and also give a fake apology for his anti-war efforts in an attempt to slow his drop in the polls. Let's all pray it doesn't work. |

I sure hope someone makes about 2000 copies of the Swift Boats letter to Kerry of 8/31/04 and has some cute ladies passing them out to everyone in attendance.
If Kerry attacks the Swift Vets without answering the substance of the questions raised, he will not get support from that crowd.
If he apologizes, which I don't think he will do now....he would only legitimize all the other Swift Boat Veterans questions.
I am marveling at how Kerry is imploding. |

integrity,
I am still waiting on pins and needles for that speech. How could a grown man and arguably a successful politician be so abysmally stupid?!
I don't think this is going to go well for him...I really don't...and it will go even worse if he attacks the SBVT.
Edit PS: If Kerry is as late as he usually is, it could get downright nasty. Punctuality is a virtue...at least in the Air Force that I remember. _________________ -Polaris

Wow,
I hope someone is able to conttact the nashville AM.....
I've been watching scarborough after hours (msnbc) w/ jr ron reagan (ugh); according to them kerry will be at AM tomorrow (today) for speech... they mostly agree that kerry shoudn't be doing it... but kerry people say he's gonna.... joe says that if anyone there says anything to kerry, he should walk down to them and ask if they were there with him etc and if not to sit down and shut up..... gee, hope he tries that! don't think it'll go over good....
they are agreeing that it's a big mistake for kerry tomorrow...
hope there is big crowd to protest him.... they say kerry wanted to come out swinging when the vet stuff started but his 'people' said no...
they did show kerry windsurfing in nantucket.... and someone commented that even his windsurf thing didn't know which way the wind was blowing... great!
the way they were talking kerry isn't gonna back down or apologize...
of course, they all think Kerry is telling the truth... big mistake...
I plan to email Joe Scarborough.... he needs to wise up... he has really changed lately.... but then I heard matthews had a new boss, so maybe Joe does also.... cause he sounds totally liberal now... and he was conservative |

That's a nice hope but do we have someone in Tenn that will actually do it instead of talking about it?
Give the anarchists and communists in our country one thing, at least they have energy to freaking do something. _________________

APSB,
I would but I am in Austin...and that's not close enough. I can only hope that Nashville Area vets will take up the call. I have a certain faith in human character (although it gets strained sometimes). So while I agree with you, I am willing to see what happens. Ultimately all politics is local, and it is up to locals to show their displeasure. _________________ -Polaris

That's funny, my daughter and son-in-law live on Lake Travis and my wife is visiting there right now. _________________

Quote: | Q: In poll after poll, over 80 percent of Americans express support for an amendment returning to states the right to protect the U.S. Flag. Explain your opposition to such an amendment.
A: Sure. Look, I'm very sympathetic to the feelings people have, and I've said so on the floor of the Senate. If I saw somebody burning a flag, personally, I'd probably punch them out and stomp on them. I mean, I'm revulsed by somebody taking the symbol of our country and doing that. James Warner, who was a POW in Hanoi, said in a very eloquent article the Vietnamese showed him the photo of somebody burning the flag and said, "See? You're wrong." And he said, "No, that makes me right, because that shows that in our country, you're free, and that's the meaning of freedom." And the captor got absolutely outraged, purple, and he'll never forget having used that as a way of showing what America stands for. I think the flag is the symbol of the country, not the country itself. And I fought for the right for somebody to be free and stupid. And if they want to be stupid, believe me, I'll join everybody in the community in isolating them, in publicly ostracizing, but I don't think you need to change the Constitution of the United States of America, the Bill of Rights, for the first time, for something that's barely happening. We're a stronger nation than that. |

As despicable as I find flag-burning, I would fight to the death to protect it. That is part of what being a soldier is all about. It curdles my tongue to agree with Kerry on anything, but there it is.
That said, I find Kerry even more despicable because it would seem that he only protects free speech when it suits him (look at his treatment of us). You are either for Free Speech or you aren't. Period. _________________ -Polaris

I have no problem with protecting a person's right to do anything he wants to as long as it is legal.
However, his statement about "punching someone out" is such a typical Kerry lie.
He must have had many a fist fight with his friends in New Soldier......................not! |
