I would be easy on Tim Russert. Even now, I don't think he realizes just how deep Kerry's mendacity goes. Can't blame him. Until I read "Unfit for Command" and checked out the charges myself, I didn't believe it either.... |
One of the interesting things I have run into is the presumption that, since I have a little knowledge of the SBVFT case, I am a) a member (or founder) of SBVFT or b) I have read UFC.
Irony is, I'm still waiting for my copy. I'm sure I will learn more from the book, and will be able to add more names as eyewitnesses to what I have, but there is so much out there without it if you bother to look. The greatest resource for those interested in the truth is ToD. Combining this official campaign bio with news reports (I have, but rarely cite, Kranish's book) and the documents on JohnKerry.com, you can pretty much substantiate the case the SBVFT make. True, I have spent a lot of time piecing things together, with much help here and at places like the various blogs. But the evidence is not hidden. I don't believe a whole lot of what I read on partisan sites until I can confirm from other independent (and non-partisan) sources, but I follow my nose and instincts.
The Media just doesn't take the time (assuming they have the interest) to learn the facts enough to even know the questions to ask.
Emails from a small-town newspaper writer who wrote a typical uniformed opinion piece attacking the SBVFT that another poster brought to this board tells me exactly what we are dealing with. He keeps telling me and others that he is an objective journalist who is only interested in the truth - then admits his "research" was primarily reading what "objective journalism sources" (i.e., the WaPo and the NYT) wrote that "proved" the SBVFT were liars. In his article, he "knew" that all the living Swiftees who served on John Kerry's boats were on the stage with him. This is not even a disputed fact, given Gardner's stubborn existance, yet here is a "journalist" who has no clue. He apparently told another writer from here that he did not know who Kranish is (although he mentioned how Elliott had "recanted" his affidavit).
This is what we are dealing with. A partisan media that only wants to hear the negative about the SBVFT, and does not bother to do more than parrot each other's points. If I may indulge in a Jerry Corsi Freeper moment here, this is journalistic ************.
I started off believing in JFK's medals, but not supporting him because I judged him on his Senate record. As I learned more, the stench got stronger and stronger. I have the same resources any journalist has at his fingertips (indeed, less, because I cannot call people for interviews), and I was able to patch together a fairly consistent picture in a couple of weeks which, based upon public sources, confirmed the major points of the SBVFT accounts. I don't need UFC to make the case, because the documentation is all there, and the inconsistancies are all there in the public domain.
I see the SBVFT ads all over the cable news now, which makes me hope that this will have legs after the convention. There is so much more to say and do.
Don't know that I have ever said this here, but I thank every vet, who fought and bled or built or stood sentry duty waiting for Soviet tanks that never came. For those who spent months avoiding low overheads in foreign seas, and those who chewed the clouds or waited on the line for the birds to return. I thank you for my six-year-old sleeping peacefully in the next room, for my wife who also rests as safe as anyone in the world tonight.
My son, hearing of the terrorists taking over the school near Chechnya, came to me and said, "Call President Bush. Tell him to send the helicopters and tanks and save them. They might hurt the kindergarteners." My son is an American, and instinctually seeks to protect those he sees as smaller and weaker than he is.
God bless you all, honored vets. God bless you all. |

Jrsdad...another for the bookmark...and for the history of this watershed moment in all our lives.
And you're spot on about the documentation...much of it is already there, and has been for some time. Kerry's proffered fitreps should have been enough to light the fire under any "informed" journalist. Understandably few are, but their abject failure to proceed even one step beyond the thin veneer of the Kerry fraud is astonishing...and even moreso, frightening.
The reticence of the MSM media to pursue this long overdue critical inquiry into the facade of John Kerry may not be due to their bias for Kerry, as much as their bias against revealing their OWN culpabiliity for their abysmal failure over 3 decades to expose this charlatan for what he truely is and properly inform America of that reality. |

Heard an interesting thing about polls in New York City when an afro-
american is running. When polled before the election many people,
to be politically correct, will say they will vote for a black candidate and
the election results are consistently 8 points below what the poll
projects. I wonder if something similar might be going on in national
Presidential Polls. Democrats are ashamed to tell pollsters who they
REALLY might vote for on 2 Nov. and Kerry is thus showing better poll
numbers than the vote will actuallly be. _________________ BillB (Daytona FL)

Now, you're talkin'! Committed, liberal Democrats will stay home on election day...especially the former Dean supporters who are disgusted with Kerry's stance on the war in Iraq. Many of the more conservative and moderate Democrats will vote for Bush, but they won't tell a pollster or reporter about it. |

I note that Russert didn't bother to mention that what Kerry should do is simply TELL THE TRUTH FOR ONCE IN HIS LIFE! |

Someone call my home Tuesday night and spoke with the boyfriend. He told them that I would be definitely voting for Bush and that even though he was a Democrat but refused to vote for Kerry.
The pollster said he hears that constantly -- Democrats refusing to vote for Kerry. |

Me thinks it was a Republican pollster that called your house. It's just too good to be true. |
