They've apparently merged to form uber-Kedwards...obviously two is now one. And Bush has all but won... Wink

I turned the tv off before he appeared Then I couldn't even stomach reading the above transcript. He's simply putting more nails in his own campaign coffin. Let him rant, after tonight, I doubt many people are listening except those who are foaming at the mouth, rabid Bush haters, there is no hope for them.

Even after reading the previews of Kerry's speech, I still couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Talk about contrast.

The President, not always a very good speaker, gave a soaring, uplifting, inspiring commentary on what our country has been through for the last 3 years and where he wants to take us in the next four.

Kerry and Edwards.... um.... geesh, what do you say about the pettiness, the lies, the nastiness?

"Congratulations, Senators, you've just reached a new low?" Does Hallmark make that card? Wink

I just figured it out! Cheney had made that great joke about Two Americas for the Two Kerrys. So in Kerry's speech, he says, "remember what Obama said about one nation" -- then he concludes with: We will have One America, red, white and blue."

He can flip on a dime, no doubt about it!!

Is that right, that Kerry had four deferments and had applied for a fifth, which was denied?

Kerry has proved that he is not only a traitor, but an idiot to boot.

Am I nuts for not seeing any redeeming qualities in this traitor.

I don't care for President Bush so much, but compared to this parasite Bush is a giant.

While I don't think its desperation on Kerry's part yet, its definitely a sign of concern in his camp as was his idea of having weekly debates. Twice this week Kerry's campaign has broken an unwritten rule of campaigning. He had a rally at the airport in Nashville then he couldn't wait an hour before talking after the convention.

I was flipping between Fox and MSNBC, so I caught a little of his speech. I'm sorry, but I was seriously laughing when I heard him talk. I think it makes him come off as a whiner because outside of Zell's speech (which I loved), there wasn't anything you could possibly point to at this convention that would be construed as personal attacks, whereas most of the democratic convention speakers leveled very personal attacks at the President such as calling him a liar.

Hogan,

*nod* You are quite right about Kerry breaking the unwritten rules of presidential campaigning. A written rebuttal or even a statement from the VP candidate and/or DNC chairman would have been appropriate and expected. This was over the top.

As for desperation, that's exactly what I think it is. Bush got a 7 point bounce so far from Zogby who is a hostile poller. I am quite sure that Kerry's internal numbers are a lot worse. IMHO I think he felt he didn't have time to wait to respond.

Definitely agree Polaris. He was feeling pressure all week and felt he couldn't wait for the news cycle to help him out. As most people know, news released on Friday isn't really paid attention to and especially so on a Labor Day weekend. He had to get something out in tomorrow's papers or news shows in order to have anyone really pay attention.

he's sunk now, he just lost half his talking points... Laughing

It really is hilarious that their carefully crafted catch phrases can be zapped by one well turned phrase from the competition.
Maybe they should rethink that whole "debate thing"....

The man has no manners and he has no scruples--His performance tonight, less than an hour after the President finished his speech, demonstrated better than anythinig the differences between the two men and those differences were stark--

I look forward to the debates where people will see them side-by-side and head-to-head--C
