I'm clear on spyware (both adaware and spybot), but I'm getting a "support JF'inK" popup when i go to the swiftie homepage...mod or admin might look into it.

You may have had a driveby that installed a rogue dll in your system folder. One sign of this is pop-ups appearing when you click between pages on a website that dosen't normally have popups. I had one and I had a devil of a time until I found out the dll was causing it. I had Kazaa installed, and Norton AV did not find any adware until I uninstalled Kazaa, then it reported the dll. The damned thing was taking pictures of the websites I was visiting, trying to upload that info to somewhere, making ads pop up, and kept installing new adware. I had to set my browser security on high to stop it, until I found the dll and removed it. Hope this helps!

I regularly use 3 different utilities. Adaware, spybot AND CWShredder. One of them usually takes care of the problem.

found a dll...LOL

haven't had this problem in more htan a year, so I totally forgot the simplest explanation, prob taken care of.

If you found the cause, could you please post the name(s) of the file(s) responsible for the popup? At least one other user has reported the same issue.

Are you running any "tool bars" on your browser? Some of these result in traffic theft.

It's interesting that no one has made an issue of Kerry's extensive use of Pop Up Ads. That would be enough for me to vote against him right there.

Something else you may want to try with the Adaware and Spybot is Norman Anti-virus.. not Norton, Norman. The nice thing about it, is that if spyware is bad enough, it detects it as a virus and quarantines it. You can find out more about it here : http://www.norman.com/

My husband is a computer tech, and this is one of the programs they use.

If you are running the Alexa toolbar (among others), going to one site will result in ads being displayed for other sites -- often competitors.
