Sad to say, but true, and the Internet has become the 21st Century version of the "samizdat", or the underground press during the USSR..

The Networks are the "old media." In addition, they have to rely on their staffs which are limited in number. The net has millions on staff and millions have more expertise and knowledge than all the networks' staffs combined. And we do everything in real time as evidenced by the blazing speed with which those memos were scrutinized. The "Old Media" is over.
Medics, we're there when you need us. |

The old media is dead. Hey look at snakehead Carville, he still works for CNN and he's also a paid consultant for the Kerry campaign. And CNN asks why they are losing their viewers to Fox. |

It is a fundamental right in this country to freedom of speech. But there is nothing in that right that says what a person, or organization, says must be the truth. That is a matter of ethics. So, as in all things in a free society, let the buyer beware.
Throughout the history of politics in the USA, lies have been common. Nothing that I can see is going to change this. In the past though, the debate over what is true has been funneled through the MSM. We in our little hovels have not had the resouces to check and challenge their stories.
Now things are different. The internet and bloggers have opened up resources that were previously unavailable. Dan "Ranter" and CBS just got hit with a strong dose of the new reality. It ain't like it used to be Dan. You've been busted. No longer are you going to be able to advance a personal adgenda and call it News. You are under the spotlight and can be checked as to your claims of jounalism.
The entire MSM just got a major wake up call. I don't believe they will be quite so blatant in their bias. Well, I hope not anyway. Aw, who am I kidding, these people never learn. They'll probably be back at it tomorrow.

RatherGATE
The graphic experiments and examples on the following site make it absolutely irrefutable that Dan Rather and CBS used FORGED DOCUMENTS:
http://peterduncan.net/CBS_Documents.html
The following site has more explanation and some of the same examples but the first is the absolute best that I have seen:
http://www.chronicallybiased.com/index.php?itemid=1486
Please spend only 3-5 minutes proving it for yourself.... _________________ Herb |

The http://peterduncan.net/CBS_Documents.html site is a killer!
Also, something FOX and others have to look at: the signatures comparison! Not even close.
I have a theory on this: this was planted on the Kerry campaign by people who want to make sure Hillary gets her chance in '08. They dangled these docs in front of Rather and he took the bait.
Rather is going to be out to pasture over this. What a pity.
Of course, I could be wrong. |

Try this one for an actual "CBS leak" about how RatherGATE happened:
Anatomy of a Forgery -- The Prowler
http://www.spectator.org/dsp_article.asp?art_id=7096
Actually the one USEFUL FACT that emerged from RatherGATE
is that 1LT G. W. Bush volunteered TWICE for Vietnam and
was not accepted due to too few flight hours.
Ok, we also learned that Bush was one of only 10-12 qualified applicants (not 150 or 300 or whatever) FOR PILOT slots. _________________ Herb |

Good Lord. It's a wonder Mary Maitlin doesn't kill him in his sleep. _________________ Nomorelies Make a donation HERE |

This from Herb:
Wow, I didn't know the DNC sat on this for six weeks. The fact that they didn't release this to CBS earlier but did so now suggests desperation. When they haul out McAuliffe and Harkin to start slinging the mud, you know they're in deep trouble.
Everything that comes out of Rather and CBS from now on can just be considered part of the Kerry Communication Center. I haven't watched the broadcast channels in years. Why would I want to? Why would anybody? |
