Make it one more on the list with DIRECT connections with the Kerry Campaign. Brenda Reed is the Veteran Coordinator for Kerry in Iowa. She also happens to be on the advisory board of the group.

Update: This is the LEAST direct connection I have found so far, yet if it was the SwiftVets, the media would be all over it.
Gen. A.. A. Verrengia, USAF (Retired) - Advisor Of Veteran Institute
He is a member of the Texas Veterans For Kerry. Which believe it or not is the least direct connection of those I've checked so far. I dont think it would constitute being tied directlly to his campaign, but obviously we know who he supports! http://www.johnkerry.com/pressroom/releases/pr_2004_0511f.html
(His position as an advisor can be found on the above veterans institute link)

Oh for heaven's sake!
They couldn't find a few vets that DIDN'T have paid positions on the campaign to speak at this thing?

Col. Richard Klass (Ret.), Pres., Veterans Institute for Security & Democracy
Gen. Merrill McPeak (Ret.), Former Air Force Chief of Staff 1990-94
Bob Jones, Former Executive Director, AMVets
Heard either Klass or McPeak state that Kerry's picture is displayed in Vietnam because he and McCain went there in a discussion on Pow's/MIA's. Does anyone know if McCain's picture is also displayed? I don't see him in the one I've seen most often. |
McPeak was the AF Chief of Staff when I was on active duty. If I remember correctly, McPeak's biggest accomplishment while COS was to have all the uniforms redesigned. That's why we all started looking like bus drivers. *Shesh* Nobody liked that guy - thought he was a real political opportunist.
When I heard he was supporting Kerry, I told my husband "figures." |
McPeak served as Center Commander for Air Force Systems
Command back in early 70s Albuquerque, New Mexico. Husband
can't believe he eventually got promoted to Chief of Staff - an
ass! |

MJB, Bystander and others,
Thanks for names etc of those guys at the conferenct today.
What a bunch of spinheads! Those 2 boys were sad..... I feel bad for the one who lost his brother; he said his sister was military also. So why did they join ? Not like there is a draft today... did they think they could pick and choose what war they might want to fight in? maybe he wanted experience as a chaplin.... think there are better ways to get that with his attitude.... actually, I don't think he'll make it as a chaplin even....
I just watched John O'Neil and Buz Patterson on Cspan.... they were both great! you go guys!.... watch out kerry, buz is after you too!
Kerry didn't count on Buz did he? I'm gonna rewatch some of the rally in about 25 min. Boy, that was great! I watched everyone real close (and taped some of it)..... figure some of our posters were there and I probably saw them and don't even know it!
That whole conference was a Kerry thing.... hope he didn't promise either of those young men a cabinet seat.... don't think he'll have any to 'give' away.... Kerry and his people are sure trying to turn this war into another Vietnam War.... we may have to band together across the country to protect the young one's coming back now..... this could get fierce! _________________ Stevie

I visited that group's website. Not a very detailed thang right now, just a few pages.
Interesting that their join page requires discharge papers along with the application. Guess they are trying to keep out the nutcase fakes which gave the VVAW such a black eye.
If only the VVAW members could have been exposed as fakes 'in real time' back in the 1970's. If only Al Gore had invented the internet sooner! |

Does any of this come as a surprise. Dems and Kerry will do and say anything without regard for the truth.
