Kimmy, gee I don't recall that Morales moment in El Paso. Was Morales the character from San Antonio who embezzeled money or does my middle-aged memory fail me? I did catch Jeb on Telemundo during Frances and his Spanish is even better than W's! As you probably know but maybe not everyone nationwide knows, Jeb's spouse is from Mexico (the state of Chihuahua, I think). |

I saw a most sickening piece of tragi-comedy on CSPAN recently. It was some Journalists Symposium and was taped on Sept 9, a few days after the "memos" were released, but before the caa-caa had really hit the fan. They had hauled Uncle Wilty out of his crypt and propped him up with pillows and were all gathered 'round, listening to him rant and wheeze about Journalistic Integrity. Mostly, it was a call to "walk out" of jobs where a "journalist" would be forced to take a certain viewpoint. He kept wheezing on and on about Integrity and Courage and Walking Out for Honor(I love it when retired rich old people talk about standing up for truth, even if it means getting fired, don't you? I wonder how many kids he has in college?) until I thought he would have a stroke. He was taking a jab at FOX News, or thought he was. It was meant to be a defense of Rather, but now, knowing what we know, it was a damning, scathing indictment. It was surreal.
I kept waiting for Rather to jump up out of the audience and smother him with a pillow. "Shut up, old man!" I'm serious, I was actually getting nervous. *I* was starting to wonder what the frequency was.
This is me watching this little piece of theatre:
I couldn't even laugh, it was like a train wreck.
And I can normally laugh at everything on CSPAN. |

CBS to Air Interview With Suspected Source of Bush Guard Memos
CBS Rather has interviewed retired lieutenant colonel Bill Burkett widely believed to have provided disputed National Guard documents. CBS plans to air interview in coming days, WASH POST reports Monday, sources tell DRUDGE. Rather was in Texas over the weekend for the interview with Burkett... Developing...

wwvetdaughter--Yes, Morales was the embezzler wanna be govenor, and another fine example of what the Democratic party seems to believe is suitable for leadership. Yes, I am aware that Jeb's wife is from Mexico. Do you remember when there was a big push to make English the official "national language" of the US, and Barbara Bush (First Lady at the time) said she was against it, she had a daughter-in-law from Mexico that she dearly loved and she felt it was insulting to the traditions of inclusion that has made America, a nation of immigrants, what we are today.
I thought it was the right thing for Mrs. Bush to say, and I am as gringo as the come. However, being from Texas, and therefore speaking only limited English myself, I was relieved when that died down. Whew! I won't have to learn English and stop saying things like "fixin' to" and "ya'all" and "strategery" Because, you know... I like how I talk. And walk.
Dimsdale: you could always try this <please note sarcasm> or <editors note:sarcasm ahead> or something. I was with ya, buddy, I just wanted to dis Rather some more. It's a hobby of mine. |

I saw the local Fox affiliate interview with Rather as he exited the airport.
The Fox News guy is in a short sleeved golf shirt, the temperature is around 85 degress and Courage Dan has on his anchorwear overcoat.
What a tool.
Get rid of that guy, I can't stand seeing him any more.
He has lied and scammed to try to minimize the security of this country in an attempt to get Kerry elected.
We will not be safe if the The Poser From MA gets anywhere near the White House. |

Beldar has a great write up on this at his blog
NYT: CBS News to crater on Rathergate — "Too flawed to have gone on the air"
It looks like maybe this interview didn't go so well for Danny boy.
What we can't allow to happen is for Danny boy and a few others to fall on their swords for SeeBS. Everyone is pretty sure that this was coordinated from somewhere within the Kerry campaign. So this needs to be completely tracked down, NO SURVIVORS
As the Orkin comercial states You have to GO AFTER THE SOURCE _________________ Proud to be an American! and member of the PAJAMAHADEEN

Watching MSNBC: APOLOGY? You better believe it!!! Rather won't have time to do anything except write, call and "report" his apologies to all he damaged. By the way, I believe Rather is covering for his daughter or at least trying to keep her out of the fray. Hey,Kimmymac: Maybe she doesn't have big girl panties, huh?
I was waiting to hear from GWHB: he sure shut Rather up years ago. And Barbara takes no prisoners Now she's pithy!! Still this is a story taking up alot of time on OIM (I like that, kimmymac). Sure wish other issues were in the forefront. CTW

azpat: Mental pic of the pajamaheeden rising from their keybards, spray guns of pesticide at the ready, prepared to put paid to the pestilence of the OIM at the source.
CTW: I am on a campaign to have OIM repeated until even the OIM has to repeat it about themselves by denying it applies. Then we will initiate Phase 2 of Operation Enough is Enough.
No, Robin Rather would not have on her big girl panties, it appears. She has evidently given them to Burkett to wear for her, and now Burkett has the mother of all wedgies. |

I see no reason for Rather to have been in Austin except to meet with the democrats. Rather flew into DFW. Abilene is straight out west on interstate 20 and close to where Burkett lives. I have to now assume that Rather meet with Burkett in Austin and not Abilene or Dallas, this is odd. |
