Does anyone know if polls like Gallup or Zogby factor in the military vote? With so many of our troops overseas, that should be a huge boost for Bush.

Zogby is internet based. You have to log on and take the poll. Anyone can give answers (even the French and Germans), and there is nothing preventing you from immediately getting back on and taking the poll again. It is extremely unreliable.

At least through the late 90s the military did not allow Gallup or any other civilian entity to conduct non-military related polls of active duty or reservists. It may have changed, but I have not seen anything in the press about that.

I've got a guy I work with who seems to be tilting Kerry.

Now that I look back at the work he's done and the way he acts, I'm not really surprised.

@$$hats really are everywhere.

It would be better if he was tipping for Kerry. You could pretend he is a cow, and help him tip to the left.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/nation/president/2004-10-03-bush-troops_x.htm

According to the USA today article on the active military poll:

"Of survey respondents, 65% of active-duty and 67% of Guard and reserve troops said that Kerry's activities after Vietnam made them less likely to vote for him."

Probably most active-duty troops are too young to remember 1971--but the SBVT ads probably helped tell them about Kerry's betrayal of his Vietnam brothers!!!

As for the National Guard troops, Kerry's campaign trying to frame a former Guardsman with fake documents didn't go over very well either!

Hopefully, the will get their absentee ballots into Florida early, and don't forget the postmark! Smile

Zogby polls are also taken by email, they send them out to those who sign up often. Each has a section asking iof you or any member of your household is either active military or a veteran.

It seems to be on the honor system, though. I see no way of any verification.

Send that on to Limbaugh and Coulter.
I sent it to Hannity & O'Reilly yesterday.

Let us press on! (pun intended)

Make it a great day.

Yes I know exactly what you mean I served four years under Carter. Wish I had stayed in for CIC Reagan.
