I opened up the first set of pics, and boom! There was my husband and I standing at the Fence lmao!

That was too funny!
It was a great Rally! I got to talk to John O'Neil and Corsi, and Burkett!
Cnn interviewed O'Neil and Burkett. A smarmy little cnn girl! I made new friends, and it was all great. I met woman there, and asked if she posts here. She said she read here all the time, but not posted yet.
She commented on a thread a few weeks ago, about John missing and how worried she was. I couldn't believe it! I started that thread, and she and I had a good laugh!

The blonde woman in the pic was Carol Crowley (sp). She spoke about her father.
There was so much going on.
The police were great. After that guy in the pic and few others left or were escorted out, the police wouldn't let any of the protestors in with signs. They were following them down the street, and herding them away!
We just got home, and I am sure there is more, but I am exhausted!
God Bless all the Vets!

I'm no expert a crowd counting. My guess is 2000 min, maybe 5000 tops, but I'd be pretty surprised if the number really got that high. I've got some crowd shots that I will post tomorrow. We weren't all that big, but we were loud. I don;t know how much good we really accomplished, but damn it felt good to be there in that crowd. I am glad I went. My kids had a very personal civics lesson on the meaning of the 1st ammendment. I think it meant somehting to them when I pointed out that such rights really didn't exist anywhere in the world until our Founding Fathers invented them some 200 odd years ago - and that hundreds of millions of people in the world still don't have such rights - and that is part of what we are fighting for in Iraq and Afghanistan. Anyway, I felt it was all very worthwhile. Thanks to Larry Bailey and Jeff Epstein and the rest of the crew at Vietnam Vets for Truth for setting this up. They plan to make a video tape of the rally available within a few days (weeks?) at a cost of $40 I think.

I hope you don't mind that I took the pictures, made them a bit smaller and made a quick webpage in order to make them more accessible to those of us on a dial-up.

If you want me to display more, email them to me and I will be glad to do it.

If you prefer that I not display them, let me know. My intentions are not to offend anyone.

GREAT job ASW for providing the pics and to rick... thanks for hosting them. Wink

How did the protest go this afternoon? None of the pro-Kerry media covered it.

Does anyone know exactly what outlets reported on this great event and did Fox do anything?

I had to go, first ever protest/political action in my life. My wife and I both went and shared the weekend. We drove fro Mi. 600 miles on Friday, a little tour on Saturday, then on to Rally on Sunday(drove back Sun after rally). I estimate 3 thousand people, vets, wives, children, Korean War Vets, WWII vets and some current active duty military were evident(short haircuts). THe speeches were excellent and opened my eyes even more about how impoprtant this election is.
Kerry is a traitor, and to think he is this close to being POTUS is stunning. He is a communist collaborator, liar, flip flopper, and in general a scum bag.

The rally was the first time, anyone ever said to me "Welcome Home, thanks for your service"

Meant a lot and was a emotional experience.

Just for an outsider, who is HE? I've participated here for about a month and he looks familiar but I can't put a name on him. Background might be interesting too.

He is Bobby Mueller, one of the founders of VVAW.

If I'm not mistaken, he's on Kerry's campaign or has set up a web site for VV's to support John Kerry.

Here's a bit more....

Quote:
1978 Former VVAW leader Robert Muller (sic) founds the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA). The VVA also describes John Kerry as a “co-founder” of the organization. In the late 1980s, Mueller and the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation (VVAF) split from the VVA. Mueller led a VVAF delegation to Hanoi, where he praised the communist leadership of Vietnam and laid a wreath on the grave of Ho Chi Minh.

Thanks. One of you admin types chastised me before for suggesting that someone tar and feather some of these dudes and I take criticism well so...please someone find him and tar and feather him. He has little respect for anyone including himself as manifested by his willingness to argue with a young lady who lost her dad (in addition to his past despicable acts).

PostPosted: Mon Sep 13, 2004 6:13 pm    Post subject: Ad on Wash DC Veterans Rally Reply with quote

I watched part of the Veteran's Rally on TV, where my wife found in on C-SPAN. My wife is French, and has been brainwashed by years of leftist French TV (which we get via satellite) into hating Bush for starting the war in Iraq. However, after listening to the speakers at the rally, she predicted that if all Americans saw that rally, Bush would get 80% of the vote!

I would settle for 55% myself, but her point is clear: those speakers were VERY powerful !!! If they could sway a French pacifist, what could they do to American swing voters?

I truly believe that SBVT should run an ad SOON which quotes some of the more poignant excerpts from the Veteran's rally. For example: start out with a quick excerpt from Kerry's 1971 testimony before the Senate, then part of Steve Pitkin's 9/12/2004 testimony about Kerry coercing him into talking about "atrocities" he never really saw, then the end of the rally where the emcee asks "Is John Kerry a traitor" and everybody yells "Yes!", then a voice-over: John Kerry betrayed our troops in 1971. Don't let him betray them again."

What do you think?

I like it Steve. O'Reilly is trying to kill this story. Read his transcript of the O'Neill interview, and then this revealing article:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,131908,00.html

That idiot O'Reilly is still at it. Bill doesn't get it, HE is not in charge of 'making a story go away'. He still doens't understand that Americans actually DO NOT have a short attention span or poor memories. I sent him another email about the above article.

Oh well, I hear Hannity is spanking him in the ratings ever since the Swift Boat thing, good for Sean.
