How could he have known what really happened if he wasn't a crew member on JFK's Boat. If the dem's try to play this card it opens the door for everything the Swifties have said.

Guys,

Forget the spin and the anger. Compare what Rood is saying to what is documented in Unfit for Command.

THEY AGREE!

I say again:

THEY AGREE!

The interpretation is different, but in both cases:

1. Kerry did not leave his boat.

2. Kerry did not fact superior forces. The soldiers that were riding with him did.

3. He did shoot a VC in the back after firing an RPG at his boat.

4. He did beach his boat as a preplanned maneuver.

So why the panic? Just point this out. (I will write to Brit Hume and point this out). To get to the truth, you have to edit out the spin.

The article says the VC killed was wearing "what they usually wore". Did the VC have a uniform? I thought those loin cloth type things were one of their usual attire because they work in their rice patties. Just curious.

What's interesting is how he talks about the others there. In Kerry's version it is always implied that he jumped off that boat and hunted down that kid (whatever age the VC was) himself.

As far as I know, no one has suggested the event didn't happen. No one said that Kerry behaved poorly. They have only said that what he did on this day was not exactly Silver Star material.

In retrospect, strategically it may not have been a good idea to offer opinions on that. A lot of officers got medals they probably didn't deserve. Of course, the way he was touting his Silver Star like he was Audie Murphy, it was probably too hard to resist.

I have to admit, my heart sank at this well written piece.

But much like what has been written and spoken in the main stream media - there ain't nothing there.

Another curious thing is the affection he writes with in regards to the other men there. The "band of brothers" thing. But he clearly has nothing but contempt for those not towing the party line.

What about those there that saw it differently? No affection for them, huh?
