Been on other threads and tidbits from the news is this:

CURSES WHERE INCUMBENT LOOSES

Stock market at .5 average for October
Redskins loose
plant alignment
many more I guess

WHAT GOD SAYS
1. HE TOOK ON EVERY CURSE WHEN HE HUNG ON THAT CROSS.
2. He opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble (wouldn't want God to oppose me)
3. I have never left the righteous forsaken
4. Where two or more are gathered whatever they ask in My Name is theirs
5. The combination of all our mustard seeds
6. To many more scriptures to count

I agree with the WORD and every curse is broken by the blood shed by Jesus and no curse or weapon shall prosper against our President or our nation. In Jesus Name AMEN

Just got back from a special long weekend with our daughter at Hillsdale College. It is refreshing to be at a college where there are an overwhelming number of BC/04 signs and stickers.

After being on the road it is good to be back with you. You have all expressed so many of the feelings I have been having. Special thanks to the special ones who have kept this thread going with so many Scriptures, prayers, words of wisdom and comfort.

I stopped listening to the news a while ago. I also came to realize that the smartest and most clever strategies we can conceive, the most damning facts we can uncover and the slickest presentations are nothing when compared to the small voice of the Lord that will speak to each voter as they register their decision. It may sound trite but at some point we have to "let go and let God". I still pray for each state by name, for the voters of that state, for protection from fraud and foul play and for the electoral votes to get the President reelected.

One of you recently mentioned the need to be persistant (nagging) in our prayers. At the InterVarsity Fellowship meeting on campus on Thursday night the focus was on prayer (for fellow students) but it applied to our effort here. The student leader pointed out Luke 8:1-8.

Luke 8
The first 6 verses are an encouragement to pray and not lose heart. Jesus tells a parable about a widow who nags an unrighteous judge until he finally gives her justice.
Verse 7 continues......"now shall not God bring justice for his elect, who cry to him day and night, and will He delay long over them?
8. "I tell you that He will bring justice for them speedily (Swiftly maybe?)

Well my fellow prayer warriors..we are less than 48 hours away. I can not believe it, finally, we are here..at the edge of what we all have been yakking about and worrying about..but, as we gather to pray, for our countymen to make the right decision, as we pray for our President..let us raise our voices in unison..what time shall we gather tomorrow night?? I am thinking we all should be here say around 10-11pm..?? Any suggestions my friends?

May the peace of Our Lord be within each of your hearts and we claim the truth in His name for our President George W. Bush..

I think God wants us as a nation to come to Him in prayer. I think He wants us to understand that through it all we need Him. We are supposed to "fight the good fight" and that is what these brave souls have done, but in the end God is still in charge. That is one thing that God tests me on time and time again. I have a very hard time letting go. I will confess that I read the last page of my books first and I for one would like to be able to do that in life. (It drives my husband, parents, and sister crazy). In life though it is just not possible, and while I would like to know the outcome I can't and I must trust that whatever it is that it is God's will. I was reading through a hymnal and came across a hymn that is appropriate:
Soldiers of Christ Arise by Charles Wesley
Soldiers of Christ arise and put your armor on,
Strong in the strength which God supplies through His eternal Son;
Strong in the Lord of hosts, And in His mighty pow'r,
Who in the strength of Jesus trusts is more than conqueror.

Stand then in His great might, with all His strength endued,
And take, to arm you for the fight, the panoply of God;
From strength to strength go on, Wrestle and fight and pray;
Tread all the pow'rs of darkness down, and win the well fought day.

Leave no ungaurded place, no weakness of the soul;
Take every virtue, ev'ry grace, and fortify the whole.
That having all things done, and all your conflicts past,
Ye may overcome through Christ alone, and stand complete at last.

Again I encourage you to go to www.presidentialprayerteam.org
and sign up to Pray the Vote. You can click on all the states to see how many people are signed up (just for this site). This site has over 3000 people signed up to pray in CA of all places. So go and pick a time or just go and be uplifted by how many people will be praying. May God's peace be with you tonight. Victory is the Lord's!!!! PD: I just saw your post 10-11 is good for me. I am central time though so, I guess it would be 9-10pm. Very Happy

As a Lutheran, I have to add Martin Luther's classic - A Mighty Fortress is Our God!

http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/m/i/mightyfo.htm

A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failing;
Our helper He, amid the flood of mortal ills prevailing:
For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woe;
His craft and power are great, and, armed with cruel hate,
On earth is not his equal.

Did we in our own strength confide, our striving would be losing;
Were not the right Man on our side, the Man of God’s own choosing:
Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is He;
Lord Sabaoth, His Name, from age to age the same,
And He must win the battle.

And though this world, with devils filled, should threaten to undo us,
We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us:
The Prince of Darkness grim, we tremble not for him;
His rage we can endure, for lo, his doom is sure,
One little word shall fell him.

That word above all earthly powers, no thanks to them, abideth;
The Spirit and the gifts are ours through Him Who with us sideth:
Let goods and kindred go, this mortal life also;
The body they may kill: God’s truth abideth still,
His kingdom is forever.

I am so emotional and feel so "close" singing this song. My faith says that we are going to prevail. But if, and if, we are not, we may find the answer to the God's plan later.

Good Morning Prayer Warriors,

Grace and Peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
I think Paul had it right when he started his letters that way. How comforting to know God's peace, because that is what God offers us. He offers us grace and peace. God does not deal in fear and hate. Fear and hate are not tools that He uses. So, today if you start to doubt, if you start to feel fear, use this command, "Get thee behind me Satan," because what you are feeling is not from God. I too am Lutheran, though I was not raised as such, I was raised Methodist and my husband Roman Catholic, Lutheran, well it suits both of us. I love Reformation Sunday (that was yesterday) when we sing "A Mighty Fortress is our God" and we talk about God's grace being freely given. If God conquered sin and death with love and grace, how can we doubt that He will prevail in this also? Pray today, cling to God, He is our fortress, our refuge, our strength, and because He is with us, noone can defeat us! Pray the prayer that teaches us how to pray:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,but deliver us from evil
for Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory for ever and ever.
AMEN --from Matthew 6:9-13

I lift all of you in prayer today as well as the country. May God keep you in His loving hands. May He give you peace and strength for the task at hand. May you feel His loving presence throughout the day. May the light of His love light your way. Go with God knowing that all good things are from Him. In Christ's name. AMEN

"Once to every man and nation
Comes the moment to decide,
In strife of truth with falsehood
For the good or evil side." James Russell Lowell

...Give your servants discerning hearts...to distinguish between right and wrong...1 Kings 3:9

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6

I am off to present my requests to God with a thankful heart that I can go to Him knowing that He will hear me.
Be still and know that He is God my friends.

I hope and pray that the great people of this nation realize that a JFK presidency will turn this nation into a puppet of the UN and that those who can think on their own, will be the minority. I pray that the great gods will sway voters in thier hearts to vote for Bush, not Kerry, for I fear that if Kerry is elected, armeggedon will be at hand. I pray for GW's health, and the health and welfare of our great sons and daughters who are on the front line of this war against evil. God Bless each and everyone of them.

Hey everyone,

I just finished my hour with Pray the Vote!!! I am so excited I can scarcely contain it. All I can say is WOW what an experience! As I was praying I was reminded by God that He has never forsaken me! This is so true. I have fasted for the last 2 elections and in the end God granted my requests. This year we have so many more people praying and fasting with us. Keep the faith prayer warriors!!! By the way, turn some of your prayers toward California you just might be surprised! Wink

Prayer Warriors=People armed with mustard seeds that can move mountains.

Pray On!

Yesterday I have to admit I was losing it a bit. I had let myself go back into worry and wasn't feeling very good. At church, before the service started, I read through the hymns. I don't know why this particular verse of this particular hymn 'did it' for me

"For blessings flow where-e'er He reigns;
The prisoner leaps to loose his chains,
The weary find eternal rest,
And all the sons of want are blest."

but as I read it all of a sudden this thought came to me: 'Wynne, do you not believe that God is bigger than your problems? Do you not believe that God is bigger than this election? Do you not believe that God is bigger even than the best thoughts and aspirations and hopes of all good people everywhere?' I was humbled by this. It silenced my worry and my lack of trust. And I rested -- and do rest -- in the fact of God's ever-present goodness healing and redeeming mankind and bringing only good to receptive hearts everywhere.

"The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord."
-- Psalm 37:23

"Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."
--Luke 12:32

I have been singing this course all afternoon, haven't heard it in years.

I will arise and go forth in the Name of the Lord of Host
I will arise and go forth in His Name, in His Name

I will declere He is the Lord, I will trust and not be afraid
I will arise and go forth in His Name, in His Name

In the name of Jesus, In the Name of Jesus we have the victory
In the name of Jesus, In the Name of Jesus we have the victory
In the name of Jesus, In the Name of Jesus our enemies have to flee
In the name of Jesus, In the Name of Jesus we have the victory

The Spirit of the Lord is arising and going out before us with a mighty army. Arise O God and bring forth the might army, and the mighty army of voters. IN THE NAME OF JESUS WE HAVE THE VICTORY
