I went to the local GOP headquarters to phone for Bush today - and before I left the car I popped open my little Bible...and it opened to Psalm 75. I read it in the New Living Translation (which is still in the car!), so here it is in New International:

We give thanks to you, O god
we give thanks, for your Name is near
Men tell of your wonderful deeds.

You say "I choose the appointed time;
it is I who judge uprightly".
When the earth and all its people quake
it is I who hold its pillars firm.

To the arrogant I say "Boast no more"
and to the wicked "Do not lift up your horns"
Do not lift your horns against heaven'
do not speak with outstretched neck.

No one from the east or the west
or from the desert can exalt a man
But is is God who judges:
He brings one down, he exalts another.
In the hand of the Lord is a cup
full of foaming wine mixed with spices.
He purs it out, and all the wicked the earth
drink it down to its very dregs.

As for me, I will declar this forever:
I will sing praise to the God of Jacob.
I will cut off the horns of the wicked,
but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.

Then I went in and made those phone calls!

Just a note in the Amplified version it says God is already beginning to Rise and His enemies to scatter. Even now you are scattering on our behalf in response to the cries of your people. We walk by faith and not by sight and Father you say you are faithfull even when we are faithless. You are a good and merciful God. I am reminded of the 23rd Psalm The Lord is our Shepherd and we shall not want, think on this.

AMEN AND THANK-YOU, Do not be anxious for anything, but with prayer and supplication let your request be know to God. Think on whatever is pure lovely and true and good. God is good and faithful and the righteous are not forsaken. Some trust in chariots(cheating, media, lies and violence) some trust in horses(cheating media, lies and violence) but we trust in the Lord Our God.

ARISE O GOD AND LET OUR ENEMIES BE SCATTERED THIS VERY DAY.

I am in the habit of asking God what to pray about. Last night just before dropping off to sleep, I was prompted to pray about 'power' in relation to the two candidates. I thought, 'Well certainly I want Bush to have the power to govern this country and not kerry!' What came to me in prayer, quietly but unmistakably, was this: All Power is of God. I knew immediately that the power to govern is not 'in man' but 'in God'. I had the clear realization that God never gives His Power into the hands of a charlatan. Over and over again, in praying about this election, I feel -- every time, as I did again last night -- that Bush will win.

'The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.'

This is a BATTLE CALL to my Prayer Warriors...it is time for some intervention here. The exit polls are of no consequence, what is is the fact that I fear some of our voters are NOT VOTING..Now, please agree with me that the Lord gets this good faithed people up off their fannies and too the polls. I am sorry if I am offending anyone, but if we are going to pull this off..then by choice, these people must MOVE AND MOVE NOW. The polls are still open..please cover OHIO, cover FLORIDA..now..urgent..

Psalm 75

We thank you, O God!

I will bring justice against the wicked.

Not being sure how long this thread will continue I want to tell you all what you have meant to me and share a bit of my experience over the past weeks. I'd also like to hear some more of your experiences in this regard.

As the election approached I became more and more of a recluse as I spent more and more time praying about the election. I have a quiet, isolated place in the house where I withdraw and the rest of the family knows not to bother me. Last evening as I was kneeling there I sense a presence next to me and looked over to see my wife and daughters kneeling beside me. I had been praying through the states so continued that out laud then my wife prayed and then my highschool daughters prayed the most fervant, earnest and deep prayers on behalf of their country. They saw the whole thing as more than a battle for votes but as a struggle between good and evil, lies and truth, character and opportunism, integrity and cheating. I had planned to spend the rest of the night there but when they got done, there was nothing more to be prayed. I came up with them from the basement and joined them for a fun evening seeing God answer prayer.

I've lost almost thirty pounds and ate my first normal breakfast in weeks this AM but feel like I could run a marathon. I value each one of you for your faith, your discipline, your faithfulness and yes Kimmymac your wit. Thank you, thank you, thank you. As the effort continues to honor the service of the Vietnam Vets and exposing the truth about kerry I hope we can maintain contact in this context.
