As I understand it, 'Standing Ovation' seems to fit.

Heaven help us if Kerry & Co. win. It means another Jimmy Carter Presidency. If this happens, I hope Bush takes care of this guy Sadr and bombs the hell out of Iran's Nukes before he leaves office....

Expect Sadr to meet his virgins within 24 hours....that or an Iraqi judge.

The VFW is a lobby group, and they will applaud when anyone says they support one of their initiatives.

I couldn't stand to watch very much of the speech on TV because Kerry seems so fake to me. He was promising everything to everyone, though. How are you ever going to realistically eliminate ALL backlog and the waiting times at the VA. I'm paraphrasing here, of course, but that's the gist of what he was trying to sell them. I'm sure that goes over well to folks who served one short, peacetime tour here in the States and think that they should get totally free health care for the rest of their lives for it.

He also said he wants to help us families of Nat'l Guard and Reserve troops who have lower income when our soldiers deploy. That sounds nice, but seriously...how do you decide who gets what? The law already says that creditors have to lower your interest rate to 6% for the duration of deployment. Every time you hand out more money to servicemembers with dependents, it's inherently unfair to the single servicemembers who wind up doing the same job for less pay.

Leave it to a liberal like Kerry to offer socialism to the very people that fought against it, and communism. Rolling Eyes

Very disappointing! I do hope there were vets standing with their backs to him. I can promise, if I were there, I would have.

Sounds like the VFW reception was cordial but no where near what Bush had.

GMT stands for Greenwich Mean Time which is the local time at the 0 meridian passing through Greenwich, England; it is the same everywhere. To have the system show the time where you are, you need to look at your profile, the item second from the bottom, and adjust it accordingly.

This is a good accounting of Bush's reception. It sounds like Kerry got nothing like this.
