I can't believe he actually said he was just against all those "other veterans". I think we're seeing the beginning of a total meltdown. The WaPo editorial this morning, by actually digging up EXTRA damning information about Kerry (not just stuff we've been discussing), was a clear signal the MSM is in full 'blood in the water' mode--despite having been dragged kicking and screaming to this point. And now Kerry in one phone call gives absolute credibility to the Swift Boat Vets as independent--AND insults all Vietnam war veterans at the same time. Amazing.
I REALLY would like to see Krauthammer or someone do an analysis of Kerry's mental state. |

From what I see so far, Brant didn't accuse Kerry of lying. He said "You should know what you said when you came back, the impact it had on the young sailors and how it was disrespectful of our guys that were killed over there."
Kerry will spin this to say that the SBVT are bitter over him being "Disrespectful".
He's going to use Brant's quotes against the SBVT.
This could be very damaging. |
Gee whiz, how many times have we seen that sort of analysis? This will be bad for the swifts, that will be bad for the swifts. Kerry will be able to twist this, Kerry will be able to spin that. And it's always in response to the Swift Vets making another breakthrough. You have to ask yourself, Do the people who post this sort of thing just like to suck lemons, or are they plants?

This was Kerry extending an olive branch. He made the call.
Thomas Oliphant (who I hate) said yesterday on Scarborough that this has been Kerry's MO since his first run in 1972, and that he welcomes it.
He said its the counters (starting today) that Kerry uses effectively.
If thats true, I think it could get really messy, especially if Brant gave even the smallest soundbite that Kerry can spin out of control.
I hope to god I'm wrong. |

How can Kerry possibly spin this --- also if he wants to extend a olive branch shouldn't it be to O'Neil or Adm. Hoffman?? |

I truly hope you're right.
He didn't really extend the olive branch, bt does the truth really matter?
He made the call, he can spin it as he is reaching out to heal old wounds... only to be snubbed by the big bad mean SBVT (who by the way are a front group for Bush).
Truth means NOTHING to Kerry.
But unfortunately, IMAGE means everything. |

I wouldn't worry about what Oliphant says. He's a Kerry apologist who will try to spin this thing no matter what. |

Drudge's record is frankly far better than any I've seen in the MSM.

I'm ANGRY because my Cousin served in Vietnam and he was not a Swifty...So I guess according to Kerry... My Cousin is a rapist, and rabid killer..
My Cousin is a war criminal who raised villages, raped women and children, cut off heads, ears, shot dogs, cats, chickens, cows...blah blah blah...
My Cousin Served with HONOR! Something KERRY would not understand!
I also understand that Kerry's Campaign now has stated that His first Purple Heart "may" have been self-inflicted...there is real honor there..you betch ya!
