Doug

Exactly WHY do you support Kerry?

It's not like he has a distinguished political career. You said yourself that his political record was the better target over the military. That implies that you think he is relatively weak as a politician.

On that we would agree. It's hard to be in the Senate for 20 years and od nothing, save for get re-elected. And the ONLY way he got re-elected was to proclaim war hero status every six years. In his first political campaign he ran anti-war and lost.

Every time someone questioned him politically, he'd answer with "I'm a war hero. How dare you question me?"

I don't think he's much of a war hero- certainly not more than any of the Swifties, and in many cases, a lot less.

He fled the fire zone on 13 Mar 69 and he fled the fire zone on 18 Feb 69.

Based on my limited knowledge, I think Larry Thurlow was a hell of a lot more heroic on 13 Mar 69 than Kerry was on 28 Feb 69.

I want to know how Kerry's arm went from bruised (casualty report) to bleeding (citation) on 13 Mar 69. I think he wrote it himself, knowing that it was the ticket home.

That sucks.

I don't get it. I don't know how anyone can support him.

I'd like to know why you do.

I've read this thread w/ a good deal of fascination and I, also, would like to know Mr. Reese: Why do you feel John Kerry should be President of the United States?

Make me #6 for wanting to know. I can't possibly understand your position after knowing all the facts.

Has it occurred to anyone that Mr Reese may not be voting FOR someone, but rather AGAINST the incumbant?

The only rational explanation for supporting Kerry is a deep seated hatred that outweighs the documented history of a wholly vainglorious and self-serving billionaire who wants a new toy to play with.

The other possiblity is monetary. Everyone has their price. I place the least credence on this possiblity, based on what I've read of Mr Reese's posts. I don't think he's hurting for the money, so it's got to be a strongly held conviction.

Of course, I could be wrong. I've been wrong before.

Unless Mr Reese chooses to share his reasons, I suspect we'll never know.

Should I take that to mean you support Kerry as "anyone else but Bush?" Or are you inquiring whether anyone else also is curious to know why you support Kerry? (I sincerely don't know what you mean.)

Do you have any reasons specific to Kerry that cause you to support him? I'd really be interested to know the answer(s).

Has anyone asked Mr. Reese what Kerry's Senate position might have had to do with Reese's Vietnam Travel Agency? It appears that many who were associated with Kerry in the VVAW activities continued to benefit over the years. No doubt Hanoi rewarded the good soldiers who aided them over the years. And of course people like Reese would support Kerry regardless of what the truth is. When your finances are tied in to a political position, what else is to be expected?

Mr. Reese....can you expound on this a bit?

Doug Reese said this on another site. Mr. Reese, do you stand by that?

A Purple Heart is awarded for injuries received DURING enemy action, but not necessarily by the enemy. There was enemy action during that incident for which Kerry received his first PH.

Not rhetorical questions, I really do not know: Did/does Reese have a Viet Nam travel agency? Was he associated with Kerry or the VVAW?

Doug Reese: You have been polite in all that I have seen from you, including your email to me a few weeks back re: my post about the SBVT in another venue. I'm far from ready to assign you craven motives in your support for Kerry.

But really, sir, you are a public figure at this point, and it is past time for you to state why you support Kerry. I and many would truly like to know.

Yeah. Many/most Kerry voters really seem to feel that Bush is nothing more than a religious cowboy, and that he lied to take us into Iraq.

An absurd POV facilitated by a LEM, IMHO, but I suppose if I felt that way that I too would be compelled to vote for, ugh, Kerry.
