BOR is so wrong about this moral equivocating. A governor and senator v. a crapumentary producer. A Naval Academy graduate and # 1 in his Law School class v. an opportunistic, prevaricating, traitor. C'mon, Bill. Wake up and smell the coffee!

BOR can't smell the coffee above his own prevaricating stench. He compared the swiftvets to Michael Moore too. Geez, what an ass. To think that I held this SOB in high esteem for so long........

What a CON man.

Awright, dare I ask...WHO is Otis Page?
Whoever you are, you're doing a great job over at the BOR Feedback Zone (sticking it to Bill regarding the SBVT). Cool

In some of the swing states, BOR being influenced that the SBVTs are not "just another Michael Moore type", like he's previously claimed, might be the difference. I don't know, but I don't believe anything can be lost by having Mr. O'Neill present the SBVT case, again, on national TV?

A poor explanation of my thoughts, sorry. What I meant was our direct efforts to try to sway O'Reilly are not showing any positive results, thus a wasted effort. Our emails are having no effect, and some here are reporting that their emails to BOR are being returned. However, I do think that BOR could prove to be of help, and O'Neill on his show is a very good idea. BOR has a good size audience, and positive info coming out of his show is a plus for us. IMO, we, on our own, cannot convince BOR of the swiftees actual credibility, perhaps O'Neill will have better luck. I can't positively say that BOR is being obtuse, but neither can I say he isn't. That's why I think direct contact with BOR is a waste of our time. Very Happy

Once again, I find myself wanting to play Devil’s Advocate for Bill O’Reilly.

Bill O’Reilly is not a news anchor or news reporter. He is a news commentator and, in that role, he does not report the news; he only comments on the news. As a commentator, he gives us his views and only his views and he is under no obligation to be fair or balanced while doing so. This would be different if he portrayed himself as someone who was reporting the news. And I think it is very important to keep this point in mind when discussing the relevance of his show.

That said, when I watch his show, I usually expect him to have guests who oppose his views so I would expect John O’Neill’s interview to be one where Bill O’Rielly opposes John O’Neill. And, personally, I would not want it any other way. I also expect O’Reilly to be fair with O’Neill and would be surprised to see any Chris-Matthews-type antics.

In my opinion, much of the SBVT’s credibility stems from the fact that the media has gone out of their way to condemn them and, yet, the American people still believe them because they always come across as telling the truth. And, the tougher the interview, the more this fact comes across. I have yet to see an interview were these guys did not score some good points (regardless of the hostility of the person giving the interview). And, when the goal is to undermine a candidate’s credibility, a few good points is all it really takes.

So, please, I beg you guys to continue to take every opportunity to keep hammering home the message that the media simply cannot possibly know the truth until candidate Kerry releases ALL of his records and journals.

Force them to start asking the dreaded “WHY” question.

Why does the candidate want to keep those records away from the media’s scrutiny?

Frankzzz has a point regarding O’Reilly. BUT O’Reilly promotes himself as a “news analyst” and does claim “fair and balanced”. So, here’s how I see it.

It is unfair to berate O’Reilly, and write him off because we might disagree on how he’s handled our SwriftVets (so far.) That, however, does not mean that he’s all that bad. On the other hand, in order to do a “fair and balanced” analysis, O’Reilly should have done some investigation and have read the book.

Frankzzz is right as well when he says,
Quote:
“John O’Neill’s interview to be one where Bill O’Reilly opposes John O’Neill. And, personally, I would not want it any other way. I also expect O’Reilly to be fair with O’Neill and would be surprised to see any Chris-Matthews-type antics.”

The one thing I’ve noticed about O’Reilly is that even IF you’re opposing his point of view, if you’re articulate, and back up your point with facts, he’ll give you your due. Slam-dunk for John O’Neill. Cool

Now there is also the potential for a little added bonus here. O’Reilly pretty much analyzed himself into a corner over the past few weeks. SOOOO, when O’Reilly does interview John O’Neill, O’Neill has a good opportunity to persuade O’Reilly that not only are the SwitVets telling the truth, and Kerry a fraud and unfit, bringing O’Reilly around will have a very positive, profound effect.

And, now that everyone with at least two active brain cells is aware that the NAVY is investigating Kerry's decorations, and Former Navy Secretary John Lehman has challenged the authenticity of his signature on one of Kerry's war decorations, the timing is perfect for John O'Neill.

GO O'Neill.

it's been my impression that O'reilly is tuned in on a person's public backing.
given that O'rielly will be aware of O'Neil's popular support i look for O'Neil to have an easy time.

i don't believe Bill will dare to try to put John O in a bad light

It looks like I have to retract my comment about emails having no effect on BOR. I don't really know what has changed his mind about reading the book, but it very may have been the email barrage that did the trick. Whatever it was, he will know the score when O'Neill shows up, and that is a major difference from before.

I think BOR is very full of himself since his show is #1 rated TV cable news show on tv and hes going more towards the left to dig up more viewers. I think Oneill is being set up for an ambush. Though im confident O'Neill is more than prepared for one.

I sincerely believe the e-mails, calls, faxes, letters, returned items, his Premium Members, his Feedback Zone, Talk Radio, and the blogosphere all had a part in him reversing course. Unless he was deliberately manipulating his audience, and planning all along to have Mr. O'Neill on AFTER the Republican National Convention, I think we had an effect.

BTW, I still haven't received any e-mail from BOR confirming Mr. O'Neill's Tue 07 Sep 04 appearance on "The O'Reilly Factor", nor have I found anything at www.billoreilly.com or the SBVT's "Appearances: Swift Vets on the Air", but it seems like a sure thing. I suppose we'll just have to wait until Tuesday morning, when BOR lists his upcoming guests on his web site. If I learn anything any sooner, I'll post immediately.

O'Reilly has lost his credibility over the swift boat veteran issue and to read that he has never read the book sinks it even lower. I and probably like most veterans have found more professional and fair minded commentators to listen to for analysis and let's not forget that watching these channels extensively puts us into a passive role rather than taking direct action such as handing out flyers, writing letters to the editor, donating Unfit for Command, etc.

This week I am in the process of handing out 1,000 flyers (flyer was made available from the forum) for the swift boat veterans so that they public learns the "truth" about John Kerry and they can donate to support the cause.
