Bush is not being defensive, he is answering the questions, rather than injecting hyperbole and talking points.

Kerry is attacking because he has no position to DEFEND.

Where the H**l does Kerry think all kinds of troops are going to come from? Is China going to send in a bazillion troops? The Germans are overextended and won't go in; the French refuse to go. Who's got significant numbers of troops? Lehrer just asked a good question of Kerry; now he's waffling. He continues to denigrate the allies of the willing! Where's my barf bag?

Kerry sounds like Johnny Cockrane when he said there was a rush to judgement. Kerry claims there was a rush to war.
