Just the latest update from Iraq.

Is it worth it?

Remarkably low casualities. I don't recall the exact casualty figures when I arrived at the 173rd Airborne Brigade in late May, 1969, but my recollection of the casualty lists we received in the postal unit is that for much of the year the theater wide casualties in Iraq have been comparable to those of the 173rd which had under 5,000 troops. Most of our casualties were from mines and booby traps.

Our troops in Iraq have eliminated the worst mass murder of the late 20th Century and discovered that he lied when he said that he destroyed all his chemical shells and other WMD. In fact, he had been working illegally with the Russians to develop longer range rockets that could have been used against our troops in the region, including those on ships. He ad plans to develop nuclear weapons(although in fairness considering the nature of his plans he might have blown himself up first with them.). He had stored biological materials in violation of UN sanctions.

Plausible deniability. It is all about it. You know all of that is true and are arguing the point to support your agenda.

According to the people here, all of the Republican presidents and admi nistrations are as good as gold. Angelic even. I bet I could post Nixon Watergate facts and you would somehow justify those.

For people that take the high moral ground and talk about values, it is amazing how quickly they will kill people and justify it. Oh....that's right. That is what the terrorists do too!!

Are you aware that the Church committee discovered that Nixon was right when he said that previous administrations, back to WWII had done many of the same things he was criticized for. Kennedy and Johnson had even had the FBI bug Rev. Martin Luther King. The Kennedy admin's CIA had plotted to assassinate Fidel Castro.

Nixon's mistake was that he allowed rank amateurs to do things best left to professionals.

Where did Kyle go? Did he see the light...or did he decide leave this website because he realized that we are not liberal puppets and actually have brains for ourselves? Awful funny how accuses us of calling him names and when we actually answer his questions he disappears. Typical liberals....whine, whine and more whine and then ignore your questions. Very Happy
