And all the libs will say another staged performance. They have no concept of the raw emotions soldier’s sailors and airman have for one another.

People who have never served in combat will ever truely understand the emotion of meeting others that have had that distinction and the sacrifice. It spans any and all wars or combat experience, it is a emotion that can never be measured, it is just there, it is something we are proud of and also wished we never had experienced.

I think there may be at least a few Marines who do.

Although he was speaking of Viet Nam Vets, Charlie Daniels said it well last Veterans Day. Here is a partial quote from his Soapbox from last year. The entire article is even better;

Quote:
To stand shoulder to shoulder with these men as they solemnly
listened to the speeches being offered in homage to those who fell in the jungles of Southeast Asia, there was a kinship as far as being Americans was concerned but those of us who didn’t experience Vietnam will forever be outsiders.

Any downed pilot that has a rescue team come in after them will tell you, I do not care what uniform the team is wearing as long as it is American. But you are correct there is another level of camaraderie that an airman feels towards another airman and I am sure it is the same within all the branches of the service. However I bet the marines wouldn’t turn down a little air power from the Air Force during a hot a hot fire fight. Smile

Pleeze. Lighten up. Everyone knows Marines don't like Sailors and Airmen don't like the infantry, and on and on. We all know too that it's just inter-service rivalry, healthy and all in fun. It's OK to act the part occasionally, but when the chips are down, we all represent the same civilization and way of life. Because we're now in a war, let's all act like we know it's all in fun.

I thought I had acknowleged that in a post above. I didn't intend any offense to leatherneck...

I just thought it afforded an opportunity to demonstrate the true relationship we feel for one another.

Sorry for any misunderstandings my post may have caused.

I have the deepest respect for Marines, as well as all branches.

DADESID, it's like this. I'm talking with a buddy of mine regarding a reunion we have going on this Aug in San Antonio. Anyways we're talking about sharing rooms etc. he says you know we can't put Larry and Oscar together (there nicknames are mean and meaner) last time they were together we had to seperate them...we chuckled and recalled the day. If we didn't have the Navy to fight with we'd end up fighting with our own. For sure when we are in the rear with the gear that stuff happens, but when we are in combat we are all brothers....btw don't ever pick on our corpsman. Wink
