I would strongly support the continuation of this site in some shape or form.
Regardless of the outcome tomorrow, the Swift Vets have exposed Kerry for what he is.
However, the task is not finished until Kerry is brought down. _________________ "A lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth can put on his shoes." Mark Twain

Whatever happens tomorrow the serious business of getting Mr. Kerry checked into Leavenworth can begin in earnest.
Whatever happens tomorrow.
I am so honored to have been allowed to share this experience with you folks. I didn't know there were so many other people that felt as I do about Mr. Kerry's activities after the war. I don't think any of us knew.
Well, the truth is out now and doing what truth does. Flooding over the darkness of deception and obscuring the lies forever.
With truth on our side we will overcome in the end.

From an old Air Force vet -
Thanks to the Admiral and John O'Neil and the rest of the Swifties for all they have done at great personal risk for this great country, then and now.
Thanks to all the admin and moderators who have made this the best run forum in the entire Internet, bar none! You kept us all in line and made us enjoy it in the process! And sometimes you picked up after us!
Thanks to all my new virtual friends here on the forum. To borrow a phrase from Aristotle the Hun, "home again"! When I left active service, I left something behind; I found it again here - a sense of comradeship, a sense of community, a sense of knowing others had my back covered while I was covering the backs of others. I missed it over the years; I rejoice now that I've found it again.
For the first time since I left active duty, the medals and badges are out. I'm wearing them tomorrow to vote. I'm proud of being a vet; I'm proud of my service; I'm proud of my country. And the Swifties and this forum have re-energized that pride. I hope the forum stays up and active; there's more to do after Election Day.
Thanks to all!! |

Thank you all

Mark me down as just another retired squid proud and thankful of the service (once again) of these great Americans.
Our fellow citizens get a chance tomorrow to either welcome home the Vietnam Veterans or to spit in their face again by voting for a traitor. |

It's not over until the thin ladies sing-- That leaves Tereasa and Liz out!
Is Kerry a Navy hero? Nope. Not in the U.S. Naval Academy's home town of Annapolis, MD.
Annapolis is the state capital of one of those "liberal eastern" states. It's also a one-paper town, the Annapolis Capital Gazette, which has a liberal editorial page. It's also the home of the US Naval Academy.
The Annapolis Capital Gazette today endorsed Democrats in 7 of 9 contested races, with one very notable exception: George Bush for President.

I'll never forget the day of the Swifts' first press conference.
I've watched it many times since and still can't get through it without tears and cheers.
I had been digging on my own and feeling pretty punked out - the stuff I was finding out about how this person had betrayed our soldiers, met with the enemy, and even possibly, personally profited in the 1994 sellout of our POW/MIA's - it was a series of kicks in the gut that this pretender could even be seriously considered for Commander in Chief!
He dishonored our Navy - our soldiers - our country! I have a young son in the Navy and another is on his way in as soon as he has enough school credits. This can't be happening!
Those Swiftees looked like the cavalry come riding in, that day. Each of the speakers so eloquent in his own way.
FINALLY, thank God - Americans will finally know the truth!
And then the real awakening began.
It's been an incredible journey - I've learned so much about our country and its people and its government and its media.
It's been such a difficult six months for them - they've had to claw for every bit of air time possible.
But, they've been a huge factor in the campaign. Probably the biggest. They've stood up to constant slander and libel and still, they've come out winners.
Their truth shines like a beacon. Integrity and courage - they are still valued in our culture.
I thank them so much for their bravery in coming forward to warn the American people. Another debt that can never be repaid, but instead must be passed on, paid forward...
God bless them all. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

[For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.
Henry V, Act 4, Scene 3
The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit; and, upon this charge
Cry "God for Harry! England and St. George!

It is an old story how soldiers are treated. Tommy Adkins is a term referring to the average British Soldier.
TOMMY
By Rudyard Kipling
I went into a public-'ouse to get a pint o' beer,
The publican 'e up an' sez, "We serve no red-coats here."
The girls be'ind the bar they laughed an' giggled fit to die,
I outs into the street again an' to myself sez I:
O it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, go away";
But it's "Thank you, Mister Atkins", when the band begins to play,
The band begins to play, my boys, the band begins to play,
O it's "Thank you, Mister Atkins", when the band begins to play.
I went into a theatre as sober as could be,
They gave a drunk civilian room, but 'adn't none for me;
They sent me to the gallery or round the music-'alls,
But when it comes to fightin', Lord! they'll shove me in the stalls!
For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, wait outside";
But it's "Special train for Atkins" when the trooper's on the tide,
The troopship's on the tide, my boys, the troopship's on the tide,
O it's "Special train for Atkins" when the trooper's on the tide.
Yes, makin' mock o' uniforms that guard you while you sleep
Is cheaper than them uniforms, an' they're starvation cheap;
An' hustlin' drunken soldiers when they're goin' large a bit
Is five times better business than paradin' in full kit.
Then it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, 'ow's yer soul?"
But it's "Thin red line of 'eroes" when the drums begin to roll,
The drums begin to roll, my boys, the drums begin to roll,
O it's "Thin red line of 'eroes" when the drums begin to roll.
We aren't no thin red 'eroes, nor we aren't no blackguards too,
But single men in barricks, most remarkable like you;
An' if sometimes our conduck isn't all your fancy paints,
Why, single men in barricks don't grow into plaster saints;
While it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, fall be'ind",
But it's "Please to walk in front, sir", when there's trouble in the wind,
There's trouble in the wind, my boys, there's trouble in the wind,
O it's "Please to walk in front, sir", when there's trouble in the wind.
You talk o' better food for us, an' schools, an' fires, an' all:
We'll wait for extry rations if you treat us rational.
Don't mess about the cook-room slops, but prove it to our face
The Widow's Uniform is not the soldier-man's disgrace.
For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Chuck him out, the brute!"
But it's "Saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot;
An' it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' anything you please;
An' Tommy ain't a bloomin' fool -- you bet that Tommy sees! _________________ "The price of freedom is eternal vigilence" - Thomas Jefferson

To the Swiftees. who have put it all on the line and served our Country valiantly and with honor TWICE; first all those years ago in Viet Nam, and again now, in their selfless effort to spare us all the consequences of a Kerry presidency--
We all owe you men more than we can ever repay--God bless, now and always--

My feelings exactly. Thanks for putting it so well.
Swifties, I am with you today, tomorrow and beyond. You have only to call and I will be there. I am so grateful that I know so much more about your service, and the true legacy of the Vietnam War. I pray that this is part of your healing, and the healing of our country.
We stand to serve you and your cause. _________________ MJB
