I always believe that Iowa is going to be for Bush. I asked my students--a small class--this evening about the election: 12 said for Bush, 4 for Kerry. They are right. Bush now is leading here by at least 7500 votes with 92% precincts. _________________ All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Exactly when are they planning on calling Iowa for Bush? Next week sometime? *sarcasm*
And don't even get me started on New Mexico...99% of the vote in, 52% Bush, 47% Kerry...?
Ugh. I have got to go to bed soon or I will lose my mind. |

Looks like someone called either NM or NV for Bush - his EV total just went up by 5 on USAToday.
Will post again here if/when I can sort this out. _________________ "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing worth a war, is worse."

Haven't been able to figure out whether it was NM or NV - I believe both have 5 EV. Will advise if/when I can figure out which. _________________ "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing worth a war, is worse."

They *did* call Nevada for Bush. I was just shocked that they called Nevada for Bush, because only around 80% or so of the votes are in for Nevada, but 99% of the vote is in for NM, and they won't call it. |

jerake:
You're right - just confirmed that myself. Bush must have done well enough in Las Vegas and/or Reno that they could call the state on 80%. Outside of Vegas and Reno, the rest of the NV is quite solidly Republican.
That's pretty good news. With Bush up by 28k in NM - and leading by 8k+ in IA with 97% reporting - it looks like OH may end up being moot. Between the three, that's 17 EV it looks like Bush will get. That puts him at 266 WITHOUT Ohio.
Any idea how WI is going? _________________ "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing worth a war, is worse."

Yay! K-Lo at NRO's Corner just called New Mexico and Iowa for Bush too. I say let's go with that, call Bush the winner, and go to bed. My boss is going to kick my behind for showing up late, but that's alright (he's a Dem).
Wisconsin isn't looking too good right now, from the link that I'm looking at (http://network.ap.org/dynamic/files/specials/wsj/index.html?SITE=DCWSJELN&SECTION=POLITICS&TEMPLATE=wsj_election2004.html). Bush is about 20,000 behind with 94% of the vote in, and I don't know where he's going to find those votes at all. But then again, I didn't see Iowa going for Bush either. |

Haha... according to c-span, 101% of the vote is counted in NM!
How the hell'd they do THAT?????
Bush, George 279,968 52.05 +28,444!
Kerry, John 251,524 46.77 _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Navyx3: I saw that too! LOL how much more of an indicator do they need? My friends say it's because the Gov of NM is a Clinton cronie, Bill Richardson, and he just won't let NM turn red... |

Oops, make that 103% of the vote!
Something's gone wacko in New Mexico!
Same numbers:
Bush, George 279,968 52.05 +28,444
