I think Kerry is speaking to the American Legion tomorrow. He shouldn't be however, since the custom is to keep a low profile while the other party has their convention. You know - head to the ranch in Crawford for a few days and let them have their day.
Kerry's not doing this, however, and neither is Edwards (who I saw on TV last night) because they are self-indulgent narcissistic egomaniacs that care only about themselves and nothing about tradition or convention. They dishonor the process on a regular basis. _________________

He also has a GREAT sense of humor. I saw his interview with Letterman.
His concept of "no sanctuary" and how that should have been applied in Viet Nam, is the concept he believes is what Bush is doing now. |

WRONG. A MAJOR BATTLE WON!
Tommy Frank is the latterday Schwartzkopf and has universal respect.

Franks is better than Schwartzkopf. He planned 2 wars in a short amount of time...Afghanistan and Iraq.
I need to clarify my earlier comment about officers using their rank for political purposes. Of course they can run for office, themselves, like Ike, and their military service is a valid consideration. What bugs me is what happened at the Democratic Convention where they called those 7 or 8 Generals onto the stage to support Kerry. You can look at a synopsis of what is allowed and not allowed at:
http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/militarylaw1/a/milpolitics.htm
As I read the info pertaining to Article 88 of UCMJ, it seems to me that those Generals were dangerously close to violating it. I think a lot of officers take this whole issue seriously enough that they remain registered as Independents for a long time after leaving the service, and they might hesitate to even publicly endorse Bush. That's where my slight concern came from.
Franks will obviously not be disparaging the President of the US, so there won't be any question regarding Article 88. He can also give honest testimony to his communications with Bush while conducting war and that's relevant, anyway. |

I notice that Tommy Frank did not excuse away Kerry's behavior in 1971. _________________ Nomorelies Make a donation HERE |
