Is it not obvious that the new Kerry hired guns from the Clinton camp are using the method of carpet bombing in order to nuetralize the momentum created by the Swiftvets? _________________ The war against terrorism is not that Americans might die rather that we would alter our way of living. Quote: | Juan: >> I don't know. It seems to me cbs is behaving prospectly and i think that they should put everything out and -- peculiarly and I think they should put everything out and let everybody go over it. This is the politics of distraction. But the key question is, what george W. Bush, a man who received some preferential treatment because was a son of privilege? And secondly, did he refuse a direct order in terms of taking that second physical? We don't know the answers. But I must say that instead of debating real issues that have real consequence to this election, which everybody agrees, republicans or democrats, this is a really important election, we get lost in this muck and mire and it goes back to the swift boat veterans, who have apparently reaped a windfall, $6 million-plus for their nasty ads, what has been proven to be totally wrong. |
Look I am no fan of Juan, but I think just about everyone on this thread is missing out on what he is saying.
1. He wants all the information out on CBS memo story.
-------- No problem there
2. He has questions based on those memos
-------- Look if the he want to spend his time playing in that dry well...fine...he won't find anything worth his time.... Hey Juan go have a field day with that angle.
3. The CBS story is a distraction from the real story of the campaign, the real issues....I agree there too...besides the implosion of CBS which is its own story....it has little importance to the key issues of this election.
4. He think all this muck is in response to who successful the swift boat ads have been
---------- Does anyone doubt this? CBS is clearly working very hard to counter the SwiftVets for the election.
5. Juan is frustrated that the SwiftVets have now got nearly 7 million dollars donated, he is just miffed
-------Did anyone expect anything different?
6. Juan, pathetically attempts to say the SwiftVets are proven wrong.
----------nobody at all is buying this...its almost laughable....and hardly worth fretting about.
The title of this thread is a wrong conclusion IMHO, Juan is a predicatably frustrated supporter of Kerry. He like others says the SwiftVets are wrong and proven wrong etc etc....But he can not back that up, and the others on the show don't even bother to address it, because its OBVIOUSLY (to everyone) just him blowing off his frustrations. Saying that Juan is blaming SwiftVets for Rathergate is simply a wrong conclusion. Read the transcript again. |

integritycounts... Bravo!
What Juan was getting at is that Kerry supporters want to be LIKE the Swift Boat Vets.
The facts are not on their side, though, so it looks like some zealous 35 or younger person, that never had to use a real typewriter, attempted to *make* some documentation. Old typewriters aren't that tough to find, but I suppose the kid sat down and couldn't figure out how to center text on the sheet...or find the "Enter" button...or turn the roll a half a notch to get that cool superscript look.
I don't get what the big deal would have been if the memos were real, anyway. I was already under the impression that because the F102A was being phased out, Bush allowed his flight status to lapse by not getting the physical.
All of this is why, once again, the Swifties should concentrate any new advertising on Kerry's post-Vietnam activities. Those are undeniable and uncomparable. |

I'd venture to say, ArmyWife, that the majority in that age bracket are sufficiently unfamiliar with how typewriters worked that it may never occur to them that documents produced by a word processing program would be vastly different in structure in some very telling ways--They simply wouldn't understand such "ancient" technology--C _________________ “I haven’t seen anyone milk this much out of a bad boat ride since Gilligan” -- Dennis Miller |

I have a summary that hits the highlights of all this. After reading this, I wonder that anyone could believe these CBS memos to be anything other than the most obvious forgeries.
It matters because the forgeries charge that Bush literally disobeyed orders, not that experienced pilots were rotating back and pushing him out. To make such a simple slander, everyone of that time is smeared - much as has happened because of Kerry's lies and misrepresentations in Vietnam.
Yet that is the undoing of the CBS memo fraud. The people of that era, the structure and way of doing things, rule against the validity, not just the look and signature (which are essentially proof of the fraud, by themselves). And a lot of that has served to show Kerry's fraud, as well.
There's another connection, as well, in that CBS seems to have hastily brought this forward, last Wednesday, in some misguided and sloppy effort to somehow 'even the scales' so weighted now in favor of the Swift Vet's complaints. |

I agree with both of the above.
Isn't it interesting that all of the fraudulent documents that have come up this campaign season, regardless of when or where, all help the same man?

Strange activity going on over at CBS!! Usually, the rats are first to desert a sinking ship. How come Rather is still there?? _________________ "Any government that believes money should be taken from Peter to pay Paul will, of course,
