I just read an arcticle from the Debka file which stated Dr. Germ is close breaking under American interrogation. Apparently, that's why Zarqawi made the odd request of releasing women held by the Americans. The story went on to state that he had a relationship with Dr. Germ and has sources inside the prison which tipped him off to this potential.
I have absolutely no idea if this story is true or not. I my heart I want it to be true but I don't know anything about the credibility of the website, Debka file. Apparently, John Batchelor also made reference to a story like this last night. What light can be shed on this story? Is the site reputable or just way out there? What does everyone think? |

Yes Chuck that is the implication. "Supposedly" Debka gets their information from a couple of Mossad agents, and has had good info in the past. |

I'm sorry I wasn't clear, but apparently she's ready to spill the beans on Saddam's WMD's. At least, that's how the story goes. It is interesting that Zarqawi requested the release of female prisoners. It's especially interesting when you consider that he has training WMD and that's what Dr. Germ's specialty was! Just want to see what others think. |

WMD - My first thought. She would know if anyone does. I bet Kerry is shaking in his boots right at this moment. He would be "histoire" if she breaks. Election over. Bush and Blair vindicated. SWEET!!!!! |

How reliable is Debka??? I doubt its relaiable, but I agree that something may be up. There is so much covert/psych warfare stuff going on over there, I can only imagine. |

Well, part of that psy-war might have been to get her hopes up by announcing her release, and then rip it away at the last moment.
Hope it works! |

Or maybe they got a bead on zarqawi and thought a feint to one of his demands would increase "chatter" or something. Lure the snake out of his hold. Just guessing |

I haven't been following debka very long - as far as I can tell, they appear to report just about everything they hear and don't seem to vet their sources to any consistent degree.
It's kind of like the internet, itself - an extraordinary amount of information that the reader must judge for him/herself as to veracity, plausibility, etc.
JMO - someone else who reads them regularly might comment more accurately than I. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Debka is somewhat better than an rumor mill and somewhat worse than a news agency. They "claim" to have a Mossad hook that gets them information.
Basically read them but take what they say with a grain of salt rather than a written in stone mentality. I've seem several things pop up on there that later on down the road turned into real news. |

Debka does have some info we don't see in our MSM but I have seen them make outrageous claims that turned out to be way off base.
Hope they are correct on this one, we need to find the WMD's before 11/2. |

Actually, I would trust a "Drudge developing" more than a story on Debka - especially a story as intriguing as this.
It is a very interesting prospect and it certainly all sounds quite plausible, but there's nothing to back up the claim that Zarqawi actually knew these women, for instance.
I'm hoping that the "Dr. Germ Breaking" theory is correct - and to have it announced that she was being released and then have it pulled the next day - that could be one heqq of a blow. Enough to make her spill the beans?
I'd love for this to be one of those times when debka is right. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~
