The President has executive powers to pardon people, right?
It's a wide sweeping power if my poor layman's knowledge is correct. If not then one of the lawyers here please correct me.
Anyway.....
Laying in bed last night I though of a great way for this Rather gate thing to come to an end.
The President should offer to pardon anyone involved as long as they are willing to go on national TV and apologize to the nation and the President.
They also need to rsign during that said new conference and admit they were guilty in front of the nation.
Then the storry can no longer affect the election and all parties involved can get on with their lives. Those involved will have lost their reputations, but that is what happens when you commit crime.
Or, the guilty parties can wither away while federal investigators dig and dig. _________________ Mad as Hell! |

Pardon? Hell no, Lock their a** up. Their apology isn't worth the hot air it would take. Prevent global warming, wire their jaws!!! _________________ ETN2 PTF2 (Littlecreek Underwater Demolition Unit 2 1963)

Forget the pardon idea
One of the guys Clinton pardoned is already headed back to prison.
The people involved in this document fraud are not going to come clean ---coming clean would require a core set of values that involve honesty and integrity. IMHO their involvement in this document fraud indicates that they have neither. |

Every time a law is broken and it goes unpunished it is weakened. Look at laws like treason & libel. These laws were ignored in 1971 resulting in the DNC nominating Kerry who is "Unfit For Command".
If the laws are not worth enforcing take them out of the law books. _________________ Defender of the honor of those in harms way keeping us out of harms way.

I understand what you guys are sayaing, but if this goes to court.
Does anyone think it won't be dragged through the courts for years and the libs will explain it away over and over.
I see it as a nice gesture on the President's part. A grand plan to show what a gentelman he is.
BTW: I know this will never happen, so don't write me off as a naive idiot yet. _________________ Mad as Hell! |
