I've said this before but not very clearly, so here's another attempt. The sophomoric punk figured out a long time ago that very little good comes from voting FOR anything. If it turns out badly, the "yeas" are criticized. If it turns out good, it's forgotten and no one knows who the "nays" are.
However, when it's clear a bill will lose no matter what, a "yea" might be useful when someone whines "there oughta be a law." If that happens, the punk can say, "I actually voted for it." Finally, if it's a grass-roots need that clearly is a good idea and will pass, no matter what, one "yea" vote will be lost in the wave of "yeas" (and vice versa).
Therefore, to accomplish his goals, he merely has to cleverly orchestrate his absences, and vote only when it's useful to his future. Bottom line: the punk cares not for the people and seeks only to feed his maniacal ego. _________________ '58 Airedale HMR(L)-261 VMO-2 |
