(28 Sep 2004 (Iraq: Near Baghdad )
"I've been home for my two weeks of R&R and it has been just great. I want to tell all of you that I was shocked and disgusted by the news! No wonder my wife and family are worried sick! I am not going to try and tell anyone that everything is perfect, but things sure aren't as bad as I saw on the news while I was home!"
I got to see Iraqi Interm Prime Minister Allawi talk on the news too and I was pleased with his grounded statements about what is going on here.
I was horrified by the talk of some politicians who said Allawi was lying! Those politicians are not here, how do they know?! They have not seen the good we have been doing!
I promise you that Iraqi people say thank you almost every day for the help we have given to them. Many are happy and starting to do better. We're getting it done and doing a good job. We will succeed!
Don't believe what you see on the news!!

Don't you worry. We stopped believing everything we see on the news

So glad you posted Curtis H. Who would know more about what is really going on over there than the ones who are in the thick of things? I wish the media would give more of you a voice and then let the people decide.
Let me take this opportunity to say thank-you for all you and the rest of the troops are doing in Iraq.
Take care! |
