Koppel like most media hacks who try to masquerade as journalists cannot evaluate facts. Even if you assume Kerry's account is accurate there is no action taken that could justify a silver star. A VC standing next to a Swift Boat might qualify for a medal if he hadn't ran away, but there is no way Kerry could qualify as a hero by chasing a man who was running away.

I find it interesting that the Vietnamese suggest the VC died of the wounds inflicted by Belodeau which wouldn't surprise me. A M-60 could easily have caused wounds that would have produced a fatal loss of blood as the VC ran away.
