Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson of Dallas and other democrats in the House have sent a request to the U.N. to monitor the Presidential election in November.

This is no joke!

Talk about being ashamed a politician is from Texas! Johnson is a real wacko.

The U.N. has turned down the request because it came from an "elected representative". My bet is she didn't send enough cash to buy the proper response. Very Happy

Five of the eleven Congresspeople are members of the so-called "Progressive Caucus," a political arm of the Democratic Socialist Party in America.

Six of the eleven listed are also members of the Congressional Black Caucus - not declared socialists, but "cradle-to-the-grave, we'll-take-care-of-you Democrats."

When you add blind ideology (socialism) to blind hatred, (the Anybody-But-Bush syndrome) this is the kind of asinine stunt you get, even at that high a level of government.

They're so fervent for someone - ANYONE but Bush - to win this election that they forget how noble and full of integrity the UN has proven itself in the last twenty years. They forget who the UN has allowed to chair various Human Rights and Disarmament committees - that list, alone, is a real hoot.

Boggles the mind.

An invitation from an elected official for non-U.S. parties to interfere with an American election strikes me as pretty damn close to treason.

I'm sure they think it's a pretty cute political stunt...publicity type thing.

We know there are some real wierdos in the dumbcrat party. Let's see if there are any real Americans in the Democrat party in Congress that will stand up and tell them how stupid their request is and shame them for doing it. Haven't heard anything yet.

Wanna place any bets? Very Happy

UnAmerican...you bet !
Stupid... certainly! Confused
Par for the course...surprises even a skeptic like me?
Treason...a stretch but maybe. Wink

Some scary comments on this subject from DU;

Quote:
Monitoring the election counting is critical to avoid another Florida fiasco, and the only ones who can do it is the DNC and democratic volunteers in general. First, all Diebold machines *must* be either banned from use, or modified to produce a paper record. Otherwise, this election is guaranteed to be "fixed", and we'll never really know what happened for sure, and this country will go down the sewer pipes with four more years of war-mongering, crypto-facist idiocy.

Quote:
I have to agree with this group of Democrats something has to be done to prevent it from happening again. I think if the election is stolen again we might have to take it to the streets.

Quote:
We should have taken to the streets last time.

I think it is good that a group of politicians are on record for mistrusting our election process. I believe Bush/Cheney will do anything to stay in power. They have lied so many times over the past few years, what's one more act of dishonesty to them?

Scary what these people think!
