Latest message from Bush-Cheney '04 is of interest. Apparently tapes of the New York HateFest are not being made available. They are being censored by the Democrats.

On Thursday night in New York City, the liberal left of Hollywood and the Kerry campaign got together for a star-studded hate fest the New York Times described as an "unsparing skewering of the Bush administration" that featured "actors and comedians denouncing the president as a liar, making off-color jokes about his name, and accusing him of risking soldiers' lives for political gain."

Kerry said "every single performer" had "conveyed to you the heart and soul of our country."

We disagree, and we're pretty sure you do too.

The Heart and Soul of America may disagree with a President, but they have respect for the office - a respect the Kerry campaign and its supporters seem unwilling, or unable to show in favor of vicious, venomous rhetoric.

Could you imagine if the shoe was on the other foot? Cheney says fu in a private conversation and whoever decided to advertise it is a whiny pathetic little slimy political sc*mbag, who thought it would score him points with his buddies. It was not made publicly, in front of a microphone or on tape.

Kerry is defending Whoopie, Chevy and the rest, saying its their right to say what they want. Yes it is, BUT you don't have to allign yourself with those comments. Which now the Dem campaign is trying to distance itself again without actually coming out and saying is was inappropriate in that venue. Kerry can agree it's there right, he should say calling Bush a liar and a murderer is not correct or appropriate.

Again, they defend themselves saying it's a free country. True, but they should be careful when they make statements like that, and should expect a backlash.

The shoe has been on the other foot for years. A member of congress said Clinton should not visit his state without a flak jacket. Rush called Chelsey a dog. Ann Coulter's every other sentance is worse than what they said including bemoaning McVeigh not blowing up the times. Sean Hannity built his carreer by attacking Clinton on a minute by minute basis. Wag the Dog...

I find it fasinating that a whole cottage industry was created of vicious attacks against Clinton and every Dem out there but now when the left hits back there is more whining than the first day at most pre schools. Newt Gingrich put out a GOPAC memo telling everyone to label dems and their policies everything from liars to traitors aound 1994 but it's the Dems that have caused the political discourse to decline.

Crying because you are treated in the same fasion you have been treating the opposition for so many years is pathetic.

You list individual circumstances regarding personal attacks. This was a fund-raiser, Kerry was sitting right there. Whatever that congressman said, (I never heard that one) it wasn't said at a party that represented the Republican Party. This hate fest was a held with the blessings of the Democratic campaign. That is was is so disgusting.

You have got to be kidding. These people are the stars of the right and brought "hate speech" to a new level.

Newt was the most influential member of the party and said to use words like Traitor, corrupt, lie, sick, betray... and you cry because some stars throw them back in your face. Oh the humanity of it.

The truth is that comments made by those on the right during the awful Clinton years are personal and not supported by the party, Newt was asked to leave by his party. This on the otherhand is the parties agenda for the democrats. They embrace it and live by it as a party!! Clinton was a traitor, he sold our nuke secrets to the Chinese, he took money from them and in return he let them stay in the Lincoln bedroom. He pimped out the Whitehouse. What is being said about Bush is inflamatory and a lie, nevermind the dispicable reference to his name and sexual anatomy of a female. I am sure the women in this country are proud of them making fun of that. Back to the Clinton inmorality in the Whitehouse, I think not. This will be a big strike against Kerry and he will only gain votes from the perverted by this. Semper Fi.

If you are unable to admit that your own party and its supporters have engaged in the same things you are complaining about the argument is useless. Personally I would like to see an entirely new group of polititions sweep out the current crop on both sides and attempt to start anew. Until the kind of vitriolic attacks are stopped substantative debate is impossible. Politics have become a zero sum game and that is detrimental to the entire nation. But unless a truce is called between both parties this will be the norm. The difference between then and now is that the Dems are hitting back. I wish it wasn't necessary but it is.

This typical left-wing spin. To wit; "we are against the politics of personal destruction" except when they engage in it, then it is the Republicans fault for making them do it. The fact that the libs are swilling in the muck is not new, it is merely an extension of the bottom feeeding tactics started by the Vietnam War protestors. Their "baby killer" tactics began an unprecedented dive into political slime. They rationalized this disgusting display by claiming their cause was so great that it forgave anything.

The claim is now, as John Edwards wife said in defending Whoopi Goldberg's obscene rant, that there is a hatred of Bush in this country and they are merely expressing it. The hatred exists because the left fostered and nutured it. They did so because they could not chance having this election be decided on issues like the economy.

Should Kerry win, his term will be the worst since Carter because he is not building support for his agenda. Since he has no base except for hatred of the other guy, his agenda will have no base. That he is allowing this to happen shows that he has no gift for leadership but simply a desire for power.

After reading some of the articles on the "bash" I sincerly do find it troubling that what Whoopi said was considered the heart and soul of our country. I know of no public venue where the language and inuendo used would be acceptable other than where it was presented. That certainly is not the "heart and soul" of our country.

In a political debate or contest I highly endorse attacks on a candidate's policies, agendas, and actions, but to make the caustic and even sexually explicit remarks such as were spouted in New York city - that is uncalled for.

Unfortunately, the republicans will not be able to use that material in any counter ads since the print and air media still has some decorum. I for one hope some bootleg tapes do make it into the heartland of America, if they do, Senator Kerry can probably kiss their votes goodbye.

Too funny. You have proven my point by not admitting that your own party has some culpability in all of this. But I find the heart land comment the funniest. A party that is afraid to show what it actually is by keeping its leaders off the stage at the convention and instead populating the prime speaking parts to people like Arnold and Pataki seems quite afraid of the heartlands responce. Where are Santorum and Delay? Why is Guliani speaking in prime time when Frist is not? Fasinating that the people who are in charge of the agenda are not heard but the ones who are moderates are pushed to the front.

What I blame Cheney for, is not punching him in the mouth, hard enough to knock him off the floor! He had accused Cheney for MONTHS of being a crook, and then tried to suck up for the photo op.,and make like they were "friends".

I resent the "Johns" yukking it up with WHOOPIE CUSHION and other A-- h---S,in N.Y. and the very next day in W.V.saying they shared American values! ....they DO make a perfect pair. One is as big a liar as the other. John 2, like Gore Bore couldn't even carry his own state. That should tell us something! ...Worst of all though, John Kerry IS a TRAITOR! He was, in 1971,and still is today. All on record,if anyone cares to look or listen.
