Hello, Mike,

Lots of units have put their histories on line - have you tried googling for your unit's full name?

If you remember the name of the CO, that might help in your search, as well.

There are probably a couple of hundred thousand pages about Vietnam written by Vietnam Vets.

There are several active online communities, as well, including the one on www.military.com

There are dozens of forums and finding the right one in which to post your query is the first hurdle. Polite requests with as much amplifying information as possible will be met with helpful suggestions in all likelihood.

Avoid the news forums for queries such as this - if you're a former Marine, try the Marine Open Discussion Forum. If you're Army, find the Army General Discussion Forum.

Good luck and hope you find some old friends!

A great way to find this kind of info is to check "the virtual wall".

http://www.vvmf.org/index.cfm?SectionID=2

Look up the profile of someone you already know who was killed on the date in question, then click on the date in their profile. The site will list everyone who was KIA on that day, and you can then narrow them down by province, then by service branch, etc.

You can click on any of the things like hometown, dates, provinces, etc., in the profiles on that site, and it will kick you back a list of anyone else sharing that particular bit of info.
