I don't think I can find civil words to let Nicolas Sauveur know how I feel about his opinion which he should clearly keep to himself. Americans don't really care what Belgians think about our elections and I truly hope that some of us will set him straight. Here is what the tennis-playing Belgian wrote today to the Dallas Morning News:

Quote:
How one Belgian sees it

12:49 PM CDT on Saturday, October 9, 2004

I am not American, nor do I live in America, yet this election will affect me tremendously. It will determine how dangerous the world becomes in the next four years.

I can't vote; I can't even make a donation. Yet this election will affect my life since President Bush is determined to fight terrorism abroad, not at home. So I am writing this letter, hoping that you will think about the lives of 5 billion people around the world whose lives will be affected by your choice.

A recent poll showed that 90 percent of French people want John Kerry elected. This disturbing consensus, unprecedented in history, is spread across Europe. George Bush has alienated everybody. He has zero credibility and zero support in Europe and in the Arab world.

Because of his wrong policies and attitude, Mr. Bush has perpetuated the cycle of violence and hate. He has alienated his allies and made new enemies.

I understand that you don't want to be told how to vote by the world. Don't do it for us. Do it for you. Because President Bush is isolating America, you can't prosper if you have only enemies. America and the world simply cannot afford to re-elect George Bush.

Nicolas Sauveur, Liege, Belgium

You can tell Nick how you feel about his opinion by writing him at care of

Whew. That feels better. I wrote him a letter and I don't think I did anything to help our relations with Europe. At least they now know that I think they are a pack of lying, appeasing, crooked, sissified, ignorant fools. And, I told him where to put his opinions.

A good enough reason to vote for George W. Bush all by itself as far as I'm concerned--

So far as what I'd like to say to Sauveur?--It would be something along the lines of a quote from the Vice President's touching tribute to Senator Lehey--C

I have an idea. Maybe Kerry will run for President of Belgium, or France, or maybe all of Europe. Certainly they deserve him. He can then fight terrorism in the cities of Europe.

Somehow I believe that intelligent, accurately informed people don't think this way. All of the news media there are Socialists. I doubt they have any access to anything other than a left wing version of world events.

Most people in Europe, and for that matter here in the US, do not understand the type of democracy that this country was founded on. Most believe it is based on majority rule. Nothing could be further from the truth. This country was based on individual rights, a point missed by most.

Democratic societies are not nessarily free societies. Individual rights protected by a strong legal system, are what makes societies free. Majority rule, without the rule of law to protect individuals, could just vote certain minorities out of existance. Think it can't happen? Adolf Hitler was elected by a majority of Germans. That society, without the protection of adequate laws, began to prey on its' neighbors and exterminate its' minorities. Germany was a social democracy not based on individual rights.

The left wing media, both in Europe and in the US, do their best to "protect us" from these truths. Their world view means they must suppress information that contradicts them. A good dose of conservative talk radio and some FOX News would help. I don't know though, they may be too far gone to help without another major blood letting.

Seems to me the USA should start up Radio Free Europe again.

I think he is doing that right now! Or at least combining his run for the Presidency with his pre-election campaign for Europe. And that's no hype on my part.

I think Sauveur is hearing from a few of us! My email just got kicked back--'permanent failure.' Of course it may have been the tenor of my message. I told him to grow some instead of chase them. Laughing Evil or Very Mad

My email came back too. I don't know if there is an error in the formatting. Perhaps some serious hacker can locate his at home email address. Sure would like to fill his box tonight.

I stole some lines from the group (soory) and sent the weasel a reply. I thanked him for his work in making Americans realize that John Kerry is the wrong man for the job. LOL!

Sir,

If you like John Kerry so much, I have an idea for you. Maybe Kerry can run for President of Belgium, or France, or maybe all of Europe. Certainly the French who were illegally selling Iraq the weapons used to kill American soldiers deserve him. He can then fight terrorism in the cities of Europe. America will be much safer with people like John Kerry living in Europe. Feel free to extend your welcome to him. As far as France is concerned, if I absolutely hated President Bush, I would vote for him for the simple fact that 90% of the French are for Kerry. That’s proof positive to many Americans that John Kerry is the wrong man to lead this country. In fact, the more people like me see Europe worrying about George Bush, the more we are likely to vote for President Bush. Keep writing the letters and keep up the good work. Americans will keep you safe.
