When I was with the Amphibious Seabees back in the 70's I had to go to "SOI" a couple of times at camp pendelton. We trained against marine "Beach Party" and army guys (I forget what they called them). It was short for "Surface Orientation indoctrination". I'm just curious if this is the same thing.
