I'm posting this here because I cannot verify the following assertion although it does ring true.

Some active duty (I presume) soldier has noted a potential recruitment problem if Kerry gets elected, the bottom line being that many experienced soldiers got fed up with democratic leadership under Clinton and do not want to spin their wheels under another democratic president. If Kerry gets elected and lots of senior soldiers do decide to get out of the system then isn't Kerry indeed looking at another draft?

Thanks

I think it's a hell of a lot more likely under a Kerry administration than a Bush administration.

People are holding off on re-enlistments, pending the results of the election. People who have endured Carter and Clinton military environments and funding levels.

The best and brightest bailed. We've shared our experiences with our own active duty children, now. Soldiers are writing in their blogs that they are more afraid of a Kerry Presidency than they are of the battle conditions they're in.

Service to country is one thing - feeling like you have to beat your head against a brick wall just to do your job in your service to country is just nuts.

DH left after 24 years. He'd have probably done 30, but it was just insanity - every increased tasking and ever decreased funding. You continue to deal with the rising level of BS until you just have enough and put in your papers.

And Kerry wants to add 40,000 Active troops - two divisions?

Oh, yah, we're looking at a draft!

On the bright side, promotion rates would go sky high for a few years because retention would be so poor. Confused
