I stopped a gentleman in the parking lot of the Gainesville, FL Walmart last week and thanked him for the large yellow "Support the Troops" ribbon on his van.

Turns out he is recently converted from both atheism and alcoholism. His conversion came at a horrible price in March 2004 when his Fighting Seabee US Navy son became a multiple amputee, sterile, and "cripple" for life while under attack in Iraq.

He told me about a wonderful charity, the Fisher House. They donate free housing to family members visiting recovering veterans, who could not otherwise afford lodging. They are hoping to build a new one in Tampa Florida: http://news.tbo.com/news/MGB8HO6EYWD.html

PLEASE REMEMBER THIS YOUNG MAN, HIS FATHER, AND ALL the sacrifices of our service members and their loved ones...

PLEASE HELP AND DONATE TO THIS VERY WORTHWHILE CAUSE.

Warmest of Regards and Thank you so very much in advance for your time and donations. Sean G. Smith

I have included more information and links below.

http://www.fisherhouse.org/

"Because members of the military and their families are stationed worldwide and must often travel great distances for specialized medical care, Fisher House Foundation donates "comfort homes," built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful times - during the hospitalization for an unexpected illnes, disease, or injury."

shamelessly bumping my own topic. Even if you guys don't want to give until after the election, PLEASE DON'T FORGET THESE SERVICE MEMBERS.

I have only donated to three causes this year (as opposed to my usual 12 or so+) SBVFT, Red Cross, and Fisher House.

Please join me in supporting our wounded veterans.

Thank you.
