Is it just me or do the Dems remind other people of a certain European country's political party circa 1930s? Man, these are frightening times. It wouldn't surprise me if the Dems started wearing Green Shirts and marching down the streets. Does that sound like an overreaction? Nothing those people do would surprise me.

Otis, don't forget, it isn't all of the Democrats, just the far left members and blind ones. They scare me as much as the extreme far right of the Republicans. The Democrats also have several like Zell Miller and even John O'Neill came from the Democrats. We need to help them resuce their party from the extreme far left that wishes to make this country the Union of Socialist States of America.
Scarey times? You betcha!!! What I see coming in the future really does scare me, especially for my grandkids. _________________ Clark County Conservative |

Good point.
I do not lump all democrats in with the Kerryites.
Hopefully, the Democratic Party will be able to distance themselves from the likes of Kerry, Gore, Kennedy, Howard Dean, McAuliffe and the class action trial lawyers and become a party of honorable opposition.
Hopefully. |

I agree with you to a point. Just about everyone in my immediate family are life-long democrats and will vote for Kerry. I know very well that they aren't Nazis. But that said, back in the Clinton years they were willing to say anything to defend him. I found it very unsettling to have my own brothers and sisters say things that they knew weren't true.
It isn't just the far left and blind ones. I've had Dems at work tell me some of the strangest things about Bush and Cheney. These are mainstream Dems.
And since what the Right believes in is limited government, lower taxes and property rights (because without property rights there really are no rights) just what do you mean by the extreme far right republicans?
What we have going on is the Left who want to force socialism down our throats and believe our money is society's (socialism's way of nationalizing the means of production [us]) and the Right who want to protect themselves from them. _________________ "It is not a smear, if you please, if you point out the record of your opponent."

Huh! I'm sorry but that is the Democratic party now. I mean come on, the Democrats nominated Kerry and now that everybody sees what he really is, they still support him because he has a (D) next to his name. That is the problem with the politics in this country on both sides. Blind party support regardless of a candidate's qualifications or positions. |

In all fairness it works both ways. I long for the day when we're Americans first, and Democrats or Republicans (or Naderites) second. |

Before this turns even more into a thread bashing and defending political parties, I'm locking it. We all have our views and don't need to be distracted from exposing Kerry over arguing about parties.
Time is short, let's keep focused on defeating Kerry first and foremost. _________________ Clark County Conservative |
