We have a forum member who needs assistance. Best assistance would be from a Navy Admin Officer/CPO from the mid-1960s who is familiar with the processing of Navy OCS paperwork of the time. Someone whose career path was Navy OCS immediately following college would also be able to help.
The forum member has determined - from personal research into publicly available material - that President Bush's IQ is roughly 10 points higher than Senator Kerry's. He has a reporter willing to publish this material. However, the reporter will not do so without confirmation of certain information from a second source. (Yeah, I know, it strains credibility to think of a PROFESIONAL reporter, but there still are a few around.)
The immediate need is described at
http://www2.swiftvets.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=103363
Background information concerning how the conclusion regarding how Bush's and Kerry's IQs compare was obtained is found at
http://www2.swiftvets.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10983
Please help if you can. The myth - perpetuated in the media - that Kerry is smart while Bush isn't helps Kerry's chances of being elected. _________________ "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing worth a war, is worse."

Hondo, your reporter friend needs to know that intelligence points aren't all that significant. An African Gray Parrot can pick up IQ points, and it's no show of brilliance to do well on a multiple choice quiz.
The REAL point here is character, and good sense. Kerry betrayed our country on more than one documentable occaision. He'll do it again if given the chance.
Consider. Bush has had the good sense to keep the enemy's best and brightest occupied in Iraq. Kerry has pretty much publically disrespected our closest allies --- while at the same time making the campaign promise to work closer with our allies. Huh?!?!?!
Good sense trumps IQ just about any day of the week. |

Tilly,
Not my reporter friend. Someone else is working this one.
I agree that character is more important than raw intelligence (though I would not vote for a true moron for President; IMO the President does need to be of at least average intelligence to be successful).
However, if we can do anything to counter the mainstream media's "Bush stupid, Kerry smart" lie, we should. That lie has likely cost Bush some support among those still undecided. _________________ "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing worth a war, is worse."
