The Washington bureau chief for Sinclair Broadcast Group said he was fired Monday after he criticized the company's plans to produce a news program based on a documentary critical of John Kerry (news - web sites)'s Vietnam-era anti-war activities.

(Jon Lieberman) He added that Sinclair would not waive his noncompete agreement, which means he cannot work for a broadcast outlet in any market that has a Sinclair station.

This will be all over the news today. If BOR picks it up, it will be yet another attempt to softball Kerry into appearing on his show. I've been watching BOR since 9/11 and after last night (Brinkley) am boycotting.

Let the Ultra Left have their First Admendment Rights violation screams happen. Everytime that they bring that up it just shows how un-knowledgeable they are when it comes to the Constitution. sKerry is not going to go on BOR until a day or two before the election if ever. sKerry has killed himself everytime he has gone on any of the media.

How long has it been since he has held a question/answer presser?

You're right, if Kerry does BOR it won't be until a day or two before the election. Until then, BOR will play softball with Kerry and continue to allow people like Brinkley a free voice to slander the POW's and SBVT.

If the doofus violated company policy (and the article I read made it pretty clear he did), Sinclair is completely within their rights to fire the fool. Violating company policy due to political ideology isn't any defense against being fired for violation of company policy, so long as the policy is applied equally.

However, the timing could have been better. Kerry's friends in the media will have a field day with this one.

Wish Sinclair had waited until 3 November to fire him - or at least publicly warned him once or twice to quit violating company policy before firing him. Would have looked better.

Brinkley has to dispute the allegations brought forth by the SBVT's and POW's for the sake of his own credibility as a "historical journalist". He wouldn't want people to know that he was lazy and allowed himself to be force fed Kerry's version of history, based on carefully constructed lies and fraudulent documents. Brinkley said that "Kerry had practically written "Tour of Duty" all by himself", with all the "journals", photos, films, and recorded crappola he provided the "author". As far as I'm concerned, Brinkley's just another KERRY STOOGE. The fact that the MSM doesn't allow or encourage a direct confrontation between the SBVT's and POW's, and any of Kerry's supporters, speaks volumes on who THEY KNOW is telling THE TRUTH. If they really believed in Kerry's version, they wouldn't hesitate to unleash his "hounds of hell". Clearly they DON'T HAVE any FAITH IN KERRY, or Brinkley, either.

any idiot in any position in any company would be fired for publically speaking out against their company's decisions. Sounds like he was voicing HIS political agenda and couldn't keep his darn mouth shut. Price you pay for not being too smart in the big city. Shocked

I agree with the last poster. There is a time and place to keep the "flap trap shut. Going against company rules is just begging to be fired.
